    Broken Right Mouse Button
I've damaged the buttons on my laptop below the touch pad that operate the right and left mouse buttons. The left button is no problem as I've always been in the habit of tapping the touchpad to click but I'm struggling without a right mouse button particularly when browsing the web. Is there any way of using the keyboard to generate a right mouse click?

I searched online and I do have the button on my keyboard that opens a menu but, for example, I want to open things in new tabs sometimes when browsing and that menu isn't actually the same one that would come up if I right clicked on the link. Does anyone have any ideas? My laptop runs vista btw.

You could get a cheap laser mouse and connect it using a usb?

Try using the button next to the right control button. Im not sure what it does, but I think its a right click. (sorry, im not on windows).

^ You are correct; it will bring up the menu for the current program.

Yes I already found that button. It doesn't actually replicate the action of the right mouse button. Is there some way I can assign another key to act in the exact manner the right mouse button did?

my right click button doesn't work either but my brother assigned the right corner of my touch pad to right click. just like you can tap anyware to get left click, i can tap the bottom right corner to get the right click funtion. Sorry i have no idea how he did it but just letting you know that it's possible (i use vista btw).

Tell your computer you have a left handed mouse, thus left click becomes right and the track pad stays as it is.
