Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?
When my mom read a chat between me and my girlfriend and thought I was a lesbian. She stopped talking to me, hung up the phone when I called her, didn't come back home after work. Then when she came back, she said "Don't scare me like that again" and obviously decided this couldn't be true and that it was a misunderstanding. I now know I can never tell her the truth if I want her to stay and be a part of my life. Living in a lie sucks.

Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?
Auntie force-fed me when I was eight, and caused me to be sick for an entire month afterwards non-stop - THEN had the gall to say, as I was puking up every ten minutes, that I was "Faking" it behind my back and actually had a rant at me for it.
Father decided to leave my mother when I was about seven - putting me through hell with a court-case against my mother for custody that made her stressed, hence putting me through hell, then left town when I was ten never to return - even though I saw him every week.
Not so bad as others I suppose though ^^ -
Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?tbh you sound like a bit of a brat ... if you can comfortably call your mum a bitch you probably deserved to get your phone thrown away(Original post by JordanS94)
When I was 14 my mum threw away my phone so I started arguing with her she then called me a 'freak' this hurt me a lot at that age, even though I like being called a freak now
so I threw an insult back at her and she said I was out of order
I was like 'It works both way bitch;

Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?I didn't call her a bitch its a figure of speech. And the reason why I kicked off was because she thought it was my brothers and she didn't even apologize.(Original post by hmon93)

Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?I think this would be easier to believe if it was just a joke.(Original post by hvh)
My dad hasn't spoken to me since I was 13 because I didn't text him to make sure his eye was okay after a minor outpatient op.
I'm now 21.
I wish I was making this up.
I don't think your dad sounds nice, holds a grudge and does not see his child for years just for a call -

Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?
Erm. When I was seven my brother stuck a coffee whisk in my hair. I had a bald patch for like a month.
Hmm, he also told me that the old man across the road used to keep small children in cages in his bungalow. So when I was like eight and my mam made me deliver a parcel and he opened the door I screamed and literally ran away, tripped over his dog and needed four stitches.
Bit awkward considering my mam told me he was a vicar... :| -
Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?Mine too! Such superb members of society!(Original post by Anonymous)
My biological dad decided he wanted nothing to do with me just after I was born!
What a guy! -
Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?
My Mum didn't take very kindly to the news that I have Gender Identity Disorder. Over the next two years, she told me wonderful things like "because of you, if I had the strength, I'd slit my wrists", "for the last few years I've wished that there was a way to get out of being your mother", then beat her head repeatedly on the bed's wooden headboard, making sure that I heard her doing it and knew that I was the cause.
Then when I got my A level grades, they weren't very good and I missed my university offer (offer was AAB, I got ABC). She phoned my Dad to come and get me, kicked me out, took my keys, told my Dad to get off the property or she'd call the police, and then went around telling people she knew some sob story about how my Dad had threatened her (lies, I was there, I would know).
She then came to me with the sob story about how she was so scared etc. I was having none of it. He never threatened her, and what he did was standing up for me! Really, did she think I was going to side with her?!
My Dad once lost his temper and strangled me, and when I later objected (it's freaking terrifying to have your airway cut off), he didn't understand why I was scared and upset, and his wife laughed at me for complaining.
This one I don't object to too much any more - because I've discovered that I have the same temper that very rarely rises, but when it does, it happens randomly and uncontrollably, and I strangled a good school friend. Sorry Tom
OP - you've given people a real opportunity to get parental c* off their chests. : )Last edited by lightburns; 23-04-2012 at 22:11. -
Re: What is the worst thing a family member has done to you?
My mother said I was like my 'aunt' who no one ever liked... she's not in the family anymore.. My mum said quite a lot of bad things when I was younger which hurt quite a lot. But now I see it as her angry... it's not that she meant any of it.
