Re: OCR History B A2 Unit f985/f986 Historical controversies unit
I'm doing British Imperialism next week and am so not ready for it!!!
I understand the extract well enough but I really don't know how I'm going to get 30 marks out of each question. I have to admit though I'm pretty happy with the topic in question B, could have been a lot worse. -
Re: OCR History B A2 Unit f985/f986 Historical controversies unit
Hello Everyone,
I've got my History A2 Exam next week. Has anyone got any ideas to what the question might be on part a and part b? I'm studying the witch-hunts in Early Modern Europe.
I've heard a rumour that it's likely to be concentrated around the from above and from below approaches but I'd appreciate any hints or tips.
Thanks,
Matt. :-) -

This may sound really thick, but I don't know how to explain approaches? Like what do they actually mean by approaches, is it like functionalist or intentionalist etc?
Approaches is the general view that the historian takes, for example in the interpretation is that hitler planned it, then it's intentionalist. So it's how the historian came to their interpretation. Have you done the exam yet? -

1) Intentionalist
2) Functionalist/Structuralist
3) Synthesist
Methods are the sources used...
Interpretation is what the historians arguing
