Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
i have worn glasses for years. when i was about 9 i started having problems seeing the board at school and the tv so had glasses for when i had to do one of those. this progressed to not being able to see things further away and then by the time i started secondary school when i was 11 i had to wear them all the time as my eyesight was terrible, its still really bad and can be annoying having to wear them all the time but on the whole i prefer it this way as i dont have to remember to take them everywhere and dont have to deal with trying to see things if i have forgotten them (my mums husband often forgets to take his and has to rely on other people to read him menus and stuff and quite frankly i dont need the hassle). plus i look quite weird without them as me and everyone i know is that used to me wearing them i dont look right otherwise, they just really suit me and couldnt imagine not wearing them as they are part of me now.

Glasses since I was 7 or so. I'm -4.0 and -4.75 so uhr, pretty blind. I hate glasses and dislike the way I look in them. Thankfully the trusty internet has provided contact lenses that I can keep in for a month solid and they're working wonders.

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I assume I have pretty good vision, I never have trouble seeing things that other people say they can see easily.
I'm not sure how easily I would adjust to wearing glasses after twenty years of not needing too. I wear sunglasses, but usually I get irritated by them if I wear them for more than a few hours. -
Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I wear glasses, without them I feel utterly blind but wearing them makes me see everything so clearly in 20/20 vision... when I first put my glasses on, I wanted to cry because my whole life, all those green blurry bits on the trees where now leaves. And it was all just a beautiful moment.
But pfft! Sometimes, glasses are such a pain in the arse when you're stuck in the rain and when they get dirty with grease on them! Arr!! -
Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
Went to the opticians the other week, convinced I was short-sighted as I struggle reading things at a distance and when I've tried on my short-sighted friends' glasses I've noticed a fair improvement.
Turns out that my right eye is actually perfect, but I have slight astigmatism in my left eye (not bad enough for glasses, though if I start to get headaches during exams I'm s'posed to go back...). Also, had a dry spot on my left eye which has gone bloodshot. That's fixed now though.
Strange, as I read the same line on the chart thing differently at least 5 times during the eye test.. lol.
Kinda wish I did have glasses tbh, as I think they'd suit me..

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I'm -1.5 in one eye and -1.75 in the other :P
I wear glasses part time.
My eyesight has been improving over the years (started wearing glasses when I was 11, so 6 years ago) I used to be like -3 in both, so I hope at some point I may not need glasses anymore. -
Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?Slightly off vision (.5, .75 or something) meaning I struggle with reading the board from the back of the classroom but it's no real issue. I got cheapo glasses just to have a go and it's like switching to HD(Original post by Amy-Rose)
Basically, I'm 18 and have realised on my driving lessons that my eyesight is sub-par and I definitely need to get some glasses for seeing things far away.
Then I noticed that rather a lot of teenagers seem to wear glasses - and then quite a few more I remembered wear contacts for school everyday.
I just wanted to do a poll to see just how many people our age need glasses.
(I don't mean do you need to wear glasses every moment of the day, it includes if you need them at any point, even if just for driving or seeing the board at school or something.)
but glasses are annoying and screw up my vision in the sense that moving my head seems to 'curve' my field of view. Might get decent glasses if my eyesight deteriorates or when I start to drive, but I won't wear them all the time.

I have had glasses for about a year for long distance but changed to permanent in the last week

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I wear glasses, contacts when I can afford them.
Not all the time, just for reading/writing/watching films etc... my eyesight is fine but one of my eyes is slightly lazy and so it gets hazy when I've strained it too much. "Cool story bro".
. glasses at the ready.
