Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I'm only at -2 and -1.75 in my lenses, really hope it doesn't get any worse as it has been getting gradually worse over the last few years.
Need to wear glasses full time or I get the headaches of death :OLast edited by AeroLB; 23-04-2012 at 22:21. -
Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I don't at the moment, but I've gradually come to the conclusion that I really do need to go to the optician's at some point with the amount of times I've been unable to read the board in lectures or make out signs that others say they can easily.
Got my eyes tested for a job about 6 months ago, who said that they were 6/9. Not terrible, but annoying enough that I expect to be getting glasses very soon. -

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I wear glasses full time and have done for 5/6 years now. They're good for covering up bags when you're tired :P I tried contacts and they told me to "pinch them out of my eye" which creeped me out (my brain interpreted that as "pinch your eyeball" so I pschologically couldn't do take them out
) but, weirdly, I was ok with the optician touching me eye...

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?This is what I am too, I think. But can't read anything below the third line. By some miracle, I did read the 6th line last year. Went back a week later (this was the eye infirmary) and could only read the 3rd line.(Original post by Alotties)
I'm -1.5 in one eye and -1.75 in the other :P

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
For years my optician told me I had 20/20 vision and my sister was on the verge of needing glasses - she's older than me but I'm taller and have been since I was about 7. Then at the age of 11 I suddenly needed glasses (explaining the massive headaches I'd been getting at school...) and my sister had 20/20 vision. We'd always, up til that point, had our appointments back to back and the best we can figure is they got us muddled up as I was the taller but also the younger!
Anyway, 14 years later I can't see my hand in front of my face unless I have my glasses on or my contacts in. My friend at uni showed me a website (http://www.optiker.at/simulator/auswertung.htm - the top image is your vision without glasses, the bottom is 20/20 vision) which shows what your vision is like without your glasses based on your prescription - everyone I know was shocked at how bad mine is (-7.00 in my right and -6.75 in my left although I have astigmatisms in both eyes which just makes it worse
)!

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?Eye tests are fun(Original post by Breens345)
Ditto! But I'm scared / can't be bothered to get them tested! Haha

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
My glasses are weak (+1.00 and +0.75) but my eyes get quite tired after using computers and after doing lots of work so I wear them often
they're also Ted Baker so I think they make me look good hehe. Sadly, my face is quite small so adult sized glasses look ridiculous on me.
I always felt I was too young to be long-sighted!! -
Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I usually wear contacts, but I have a pair of glasses as well, as my contacts sometimes make my eyes hurt. I've had problems in class with my vision since I was around the age of 6, but my mother never took me to an optician before I was 12
I was absolutely amazed when trees turned out to have visible leaves!
I now have -1.75 and -2.75+astigmatism and it appears to gradually get worse
I already feel like a blind person without my contacts/glasses

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
I've been wearing glasses since the age of 10. I don't like contacts and think glasses suit me better. I'm around -3/4 in both eyes. My entire family have pretty bad eyesight and wear contacts/glasses and I have the best eyesight out of them all!

Re: Do you have perfect vision or do you have glasses/contacts?
My eyes are both about -7, but that's correctable and I don't have any other problems so it's fine
People are shocked when they put my glasses on, though...
They're fine, honestly. I've never had anyone blow air in my eyes. I had eyedrops to dilate my pupils when I was very young but I don't think they routinely do that to adults. The worst part is that they shine a really bright light into your eyes to illuminate the back of your eyeball and check for health problems - other than that, it's just reading/looking at things(Original post by Breens345)
They don't sound it haha! All that scary stuff about getting your pupils dilated and them blowing air in your eyes sounds awful!
