    Ugandan Postal Service?

Sorry mate, but I'm not on the same wavelength as you!

Well, you always send me visitor messages and you always say that you wish to use UPS. I once referred to them as Ugandan Postal Services

My laptop is still pretty fast, with its 3.4ghz p4. Granted yours might do more but mines still pretty fast.

Annoyed that i can't say its still fastest now the multi cores have caught up.

Back then people just talked about clock speed.

    + a very likely £200.

Still would be a good price; what laptop is this by the way?
MSI - newly released model. Check the website out.. Had bought my asus laptop couple of years back. Still works like a charm.

Personally I'd just build a desktop. My brother built one which can run Battlefield 3 extremely smoothly on high/very high graphics settings for under £300. Then perhaps buy a mid-range laptop for £400ish?
    This.

It's so easy to build a perfectly capable gaming rig it's unreal. As long as you're not swayed by a few crappy green LEDs and shiny plastic, any sensible gamer will just self-build and buy a mid-range laptop.

I would personally much rather build my own desktop than buying a stupidly overpriced alienware. You are paying a huge premium for the brand name. Alienware are known for having pretty bad customer service as well. Spend perhaps £700 on a decent desktop, and £200 on a netbook for lectures. You will be far more satisfied with the performance for the price. Desktops are also easily upgradable, unlike a laptop, where the most you can easily do is upgrade the RAM and hard drive. Just don't be one of those people who buy an alienware thinking that they are the kings of computers, when they really are not.

I wanna build a pc to take to uni (mainly for games like counter strike 1.6, source). I was looking into alienware but my oh my their prices are sky high. I'm just gonna build a pc myself.

To all the tech guys, do you recommend me buying a static discharge kit when building the pc?
