Re: Your favourite music album(s)?I like Wiley. He and Dizzee are miles ahead of everyone else in Grime music.(Original post by marcusmerehay)
It's just a snapshot - I've got albums by JME, Wiley Skepta, Double E, Scorcher etc. etc.
Just that it happens to be one of my most played albums on iTunes.
Brainwashed and Runaway are definite favourites.
Boy In Da Corner is one of my favourite albums actually I should have posted that too. 10 years old and still as relevant today as it was back then, entirely self-produced and completely innovative, and he was 17!
Absolutely brilliant. Why did he have to changeWe used to fight with kids from other estates, now 8 millimetres settle debates

Re: Your favourite music album(s)?
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. There's not a song on it I don't like, still sounds fashionable 7? years on.
Reverend & The Makers - A French Kiss in the Chaos.
Yes, I do like my Sheffield bands... especially with the fact RATMs lead singer is a massive Sheffield Wednesday fan. (and all the Arctic Monkeys are!)

Re: Your favourite music album(s)?I rate the VU very highly, there's not a single song on that particular album that I don't like(Original post by Wilfred Little)
You've got similar taste in Rock to me and the Velvets are my favourite band, some of those albums I haven't heard so I will now be downloading them.

. Impossible to choose a favourite song from it but I do love 'Sunday Morning' as the opener, it sets the tone of the album fantastically. I do want to buy their Loaded album but I'm worried it won't live up to how great VU&N is.
Ah, this will make you
further then as I've always been more of a Bolan fan than a Bowie fan
Although in all fairness I only know a handful of Bowie songs and own two T-Rex albums. I have a loooong list of albums that I want to buy so I should give him more of a fair chance really and add Bowie to the list, what's is your favourite album of his?

Re: Your favourite music album(s)?I listened to TVUAN first before any other VU album and my favourite track was Sunday Morning too, along with All Tomorrow's Parties, I'll Be Your Mirror and Femme Fatale. I think from what you said you'd love Loaded (so buy it immediately(Original post by glousck)

), here's a track from it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osOq7G-fiY8 . I also like 'VU', I think it came out years afterwards as it's a compilation album that was full of out-takes and it has this track on it. It's another brilliant album.
As for Bowie, I'd say my favourite album is The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. It's just perfect and it's the album that turned me into a Bowie nut, if you like the Glam Rock thing I'd go for that first. Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane are very good too. Here is a track from Ziggy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFDj3shXvco . 'Heroes' and 'Low' are also brilliant (as is everything he did in the 70s) but not Glam Rock, they are more experimental. -
Re: Your favourite music album(s)?
Talking Heads - Remain In Light.
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Radiohead - Kid A
Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street
Led Zeppelin IV
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
So there's a top ten of sorts, subject to change quite a bit. The top 4 are the only ones that I would definitely put there on any given day and I can't pick a favourite out of them. That's also with me not allowing myself to repeat artists, so honourable mentions to:
Fear Of Music
Sister, Goo
OK Computer, In Rainbows
Kind Of Blue, Bitches Brew
Radioactivity, The Man Machine
The Wall, Meddle
