Four Seasons is probably my favourite book, and the Mist is pretty good.

    Best: The Dark Tower 1

Good: The Dark Tower 2 and 3

Not Very Good: The Dark Tower 4 and 5

The Bad: The Dark Tower 6 and 7

The Excruciating: Every other book he's written, I mean Jesus Christ. It's just all so bad.

    Best: Carrie
Worst: Dolores Claiborne. Or maybe Needful Things. The Dark Half was pretty bad, too.

    Best - The Stand/The Long Walk/Apt Pupil/Pet Semetary
Worst - He's written some bad ones, but never anything worse than "From a Buick 8", possibly the worst book I've ever actually read all the way through. Would have given up had it been anyone else.

Best - The Gunslinger (Dark Tower Series 1)
Honorable best mentions - Cujo and The Shining

    Worst: The Dark Half

Honorable worst mention: The Drawing of the Three (following the Gunslinger, it just looked AWFUL in comparison)

If you think his work is so bad then why have you read so many of his books?...

    Mine
    Best
Pet Sematary - my favourite ever book.
    Salem's Lot

    Worst
    The Regulators/Desperation
The Tommyknockers - the only one of his books I never finished, couldn't get into it. Been meaning to give it another chance.
Dreamcatcher - bad, just so so bad.

    Disappointing
Needful Things - loved the concept when I read the blurb, was underwhelmed with the book.

    Underrated
    Duma Key
Cell..... - It had a lot of flaws but I don't think it was terrible xD.

    Overrated
The Shining - after everything I had heard about it i was expecting the best thing since sliced bread. I enjoyed it, good book, but I think it gets too much praise.

    Currently reading Firestarter

    (I havn't read TDT series)

I actually liked The Tommyknockers, I know it's when he was taking drugs and stuff but I liked how OTT it was.

I've read a lot of Stephen King books in the past and I'm currently going through them again.
If I were to rank them it would be like this: (In no particular order).
    The Best:
    Pet Sematary
    The Shining
    The Green Mile
    Full Dark, No Stars
    Night Shift
    The Stand
    Misery
    Different Seasons
    Salem's Lot
    Eye Of The Dragon
    The Talisman
    Bag Of Bones
    Insomnia
    Duma Key
    Everything's Eventual
    On Writing. (Non-fiction).
    The Dead Zone
    The Dark Half

Books I could not get into:
Lisey's Story (Didn't click with me).
Cycle of The Werewolf (Never was a fan of werewolves).

    Currently reading:
Under the Dome (So far so good).
The Dark Tower Series (Just started the Gunslinger).

Books I still need to read:
Carrie (kicking myself for not getting to it sooner).
Christine (The movie was absolute fun and I can't wait to read the book, despite my little knowledge about cars).
11.22.63 (I love science fiction and it's great concept).
It. (Another one in which I'm kicking myself for not reading sooner).
    Nightmares And Dreamscapes
    Dreamcatcher
    Richard Bachman Books

Re: Stephen King - Best and Worst books.
I like all the books i've read so far by Stephen King, dissapointed by ending of `Cell` though. My favourite would have to be `It`

Actually trying to find a book to read next, anyone got any recommendations on a good thriller book, the gritter/miserable, the better :P I'm thinking of trying Pet Semetary, as that's in my current to read list, but want to read something really really decent (doesnt have to be by Stephen King) after having been recommended the most terrible book i've ever had to read (1984-George Orwell), i thought everyone rated that book highly and was expecting a good read, it was the most slow, uneventful, predictable book i've had the displeasure to read. I really don't see why everyone loves it so much.

EDIT: Please note, that is of course, my own opinion, I understand the majority of people love 1984, but it certaintly isn't for me

    Good to hear.
I know that the film adaptation has had bad critical reviews, so it's good to know the book is actually enjoyable.

Just finished re-reading The Shining. I have to admit, this is probably one of my all time favorite book of Mr King's. How do you guys feel about the recent news of Joyland and the sequel to The Shining, 'Dr Sleep'?
