I'm sure you did fine. I put in how education is still a major part of TV for young kids, and also how the biggest problem is the influence of reality TV these days. The mark scheme says you don't necessarily need lots of points to score very highly, so long as you explain and justify each point with great detail.

That's good, I really justified my points and stuff.

the listenings were stupidly slow.. especially the first couple, then the pace picked up a bit.. but not a lot! i found the grammar okay.. but maybe thats because weve been doing non stop grammar in class! there were a couple of verbs that i just made a guess at!

for the essays vocab and ideas are key.. grammar and accuracy are also important, ut you need to be getting lots of points across and not be repetitive.. only yesterday i did an in class essay and my teacher told me that i needed more ideas.. but well see.. i already have a high b in this exam

I thought this paper was quite easy too, which makes me paranoid haha!
Wish I'd put the points about the government/ advertising in my essay though. I was shocked how slow the listening was, definitely slower than the past papers!

Did the essay question on TV actually ask you how one can rectify the situation?! o.o I swore it was just "how do you react to this statement?"!

Atleast it's not just me that found the listening really, really slow. I swear none of the past papers i did were this slow. That questions about taking your family to the cinema was NOT NICE. Atleast at A2 with the gap fill theres a mix of words, nouns, adjectives, verbs so you can tell which ones definately do not make sense. These were all verbs. Can completely understand how Y12 found it difficult, loads of adjectival endings and 9. was a conditional which i never would have got last year.

I'm convinced it was how do you react.
i did say in my intro that i was going to analyse the positives/ negatives and decide whether children should watch more/ less TV.

Yeah it was just your reaction I did the vor- & nachteile and linked them into my opinion of it basically, ended up concluding that 30 mins a day isn't damaging so I guess in my essay there would be no need to rectify it haha

No, it didn't, it just ask wie reagieren Sie darauf, so technically I should be fine just mentioning what I thought about the statement.

It's to do with the fall in the uptake of German A-level. AQA are desperate for people to learn german, and they're doing everything they can to get people to take it and get good grades.

Clearly more people resitting than taking for the first time :O

Hmm. I'm a tad worried now, due to the fact although I talked about the effects on young kids throughout, I didn't really stick to the 30 minutes a day thing apart from in the intro where I asked if they were right to think that. Will this affect my content mark too much?

I feel sorry for the Y12s if that's the case, becuase we'll screw the grade boundries. I'd definately say the listening was slower than normal, but i found it really hard to pick out what was being said at times/ it was so slow it seemed almost jumpy?? the cinema gap fill thing; I've had nicer ones at A2, not even kidding. The essay Q's were nice in terms of topic, but really really vague, when you think about it, which could've caught a lot of the AS lot out, whilst the A2ers are used to having to define/ show where we're going with an essay title before we can actually get going.

Edit: I did get to mention Dora the Explorer in my essay though XD.

Re: AQA AS German Writting and Oral Exams
Did the German AS written paper yesterday - tomorrow I'm dealing with French (which I should be revising for at the moment).

I can sympathise with those who found some of the questions a bit of a battle - the grammar was a little different in one or two of the sections - I don't believe they regularly ask on the subjunctive/hypothetical/conditional - and the Cinema question was a brain teaser that I spent more time on than I intended.

*sigh* We'll never understand the minds of German examiners.

Grade boundaries, well, I don't know if they'll be lowered. We'll see eventually; thank goodness our grade doesn't rest completely on this paper.

Am I the only Year 12 that found this exam quite good? o.o I would almost go as far as saying that I actually had fun doing it in places... +.+

Yeah, I also found it ok tbh, apart from one of the listening questions, I think it was 'hotel mama' and you had to list 4 points about something. I didn't get one.
The grammar section was okay too. I also enjoyed doing it!! I like doing german exam papers haha
