I got back into this game after my GCSE's.. Like SERIOUSLY back into it :/ it has this addictive element to it, and, Lord knows why, I find myself spending countless hours playing it... Although the bot gives me ample time to do other things

Although I'm sure there are people out there that play that much... I guess they're the living definition of 'square eyes'...

I've been to RuneFest 2010, RuneFest 2011, MCM Expo, London Player Meetup Jan 2011 & Alton Towers Player Meetup June 2012.

Two years work on the above...

Currently part of Clan Leadership for a clan called Spirits of Arianwyn.

I'm 18 and have played this since I was 14.

    Real pathetic *

*This comment came from somebody 18+

I'd rather be playing in a mature world of which there was an age limit to get away from the kids who gamble for ingame GP or the spambots! Edit: Also the kids who start arguments over anything, we're online and in the real world not in the playground or classroom aha.

Oh dear, my bf recently got me to start playing the game and now I'm worried about it ruining my life thanks to you guys  haha, but I think I'll be okay since I only log on once every two weeks or so.

    I will be okay, won't I?

I remember playing this **** throughout my GCSEs, it was ****ing terrible, me and my friends would go straight home from school and play till about 9/10. It was so addicting, haven't played in 2 years though and hopefully won't be playing anytime in the future. Oh, and the Runescape advert literally made me cringe...

Yeah people pretty much go through phases of 'Scaping because parts of the game are too grindy at the moment.

Well actually, yes, it is. Whilst I don't have the exact figures as Jagex don't release them, there are a hell of a lot of 18+ year olds, ranging to their 70s playing RuneScape. However, you tend to stick within your age cluster within the game.

    (Original post by Mark Gerhard)
Like, less than 4% of our players are under 13, and the average age is 16. There are two major spikes; one at 14, and one at 18. And then obviously secondarily one at 19 and weirdly one at 28. I guess that's all of us logging in ...
    (Original post by Mark Gerhard)
But to be honest it is 16 and up. The best way to describe it is that we actively internally say we're making a game we want to play. And whilst we're not gratuitous with our content -- it might be enjoyed by a younger audience -- but in terms of the gameplay and complexity and puzzling, we've aimed it at an adult mind, not a kid mind. And, I think, that's the message we believe internally and we shared it with our guys. But now, it's important we start saying that publicly.

20 hours a month isn't that much, during the holidays i log around 40-50 hours a week. During school time a more modest 20-30. Honestly i know if you were to add the time i spend watching tv+runescape+ random computer stuff/console stuff i'd come out lower during school time than most people as i simply don't watch tv.

I'm doing fine and i've been playing for 7 years. I'm not morbidly obese, i did more than fine at GCSE's and i'm heading that way at A-Level as well. I'm guessing you're not a 13 year old who gets obsessed ridiculously quickly like a lot of people seemed to be when they got hooked.

    Wow!
I didn't realise it's changed so much. Haven't logged in for 517 days, and that was literally just to login and then log right out again tbf, not played it properly in about 5 years....

Can anyone give me any tips / pointers on all the new snazzy stuff? Think I'm going to play as free for a while to make sure I'll keep playing before paying, but I used to be a member for a few years so probably will..
