Youtube is the worst indicator of a players ability. Chamakh can look like Messi.

You have to watch a full match to see what they do on and off the ball.
Well I don't really have time for that, but when I do, I'll defo watch him (In the Euro's).

I agree, especially as you forgot Rosicky and Diaby (though the latter is so injured so often I understand not counting him). If we keep RVP and don't screw up Wilshere & Sagna's recoveries I'm pretty excited about our prospects next season.

    Those are big ifs though
Yh gd call on Rosicky did him a complete disservice I do wish he could teach Ramsey how to shoot. Diaby......well he must play like Zidane in training but I can't even remember when he last played two full games of 90mins in a row

Just saw a few videos of him on youtube. Can say that he does look pretty good. Lets hope that Mr Wenger will be given enough Money to spend this summer. x

I'm watching Rennes against Dijon and they're destroying them, 5-0 to Rennes now (although Dijon got a red card early). The defense is strong and M'Vila is quality in defense, he doesn't seem the type to run in attack every time as well.

EDIT: Match just ended, I'll stay in my decision to want M'Vila in Arsenal. (doubt we'll get him though)

Realistically, we're not getting any defenders or goalkeepers (can't see both fab & almunia leaving). Perhaps one midfielder, DM (meaning wilshere plays in AM role) or an AM (wilshere plays in DM role as he did in 10/11). And perhaps another forward if we don't keep yossi/arshavin/RVP.

Wenger's never been the type to replace players because of their lack of ability (despite seeing a host of them leave on loan this year), only when he's forced to, and even then he has too much faith in his current players.

Arteta is a top, top player. We missed in the last few games of the season. He can really gel our team together. But I would rather have Wilshere up at CAM and play Arteta behind him. More of a free role. And, as for wingers, I'm going to have to pick Ox to play on one wing with Podolski on the other. My team would look something like this (If we don't buy anyone else)...

    ------------------(W.S)-------------------
    (Sagna)-(Kosienly)-(Vermalen)-(Gibbs/Santos)
    -----------(Arteta)-(Song)-----------------
    ---(Ox)-------(Wilshere)-------(Podolski)---
    ---------------(RVP)----------------------

Theo, Gervinho, Rosicky and Ramsey might have a cry about that team :P.

On a side note of getting new players would anyone like to see Yossi Benayoun stick around????

Personally I would love to have him re-signed for another yr's loan or as a free transfer but not actually for a transfer fee.

An absolute model professional who never made a public cry for more minutes, fed on scraps but always gave a decent performance wen needed. If not for nothing gd role-model and a handy false-winger if needed

Almunia is out of contract, and Fabianski wants to leave.

Well... I know Ramsey broke his leg at an earlier time, but he was generally poor in most games, and at this level it isn't really acceptable. For Gervinho, well he is a great player, but he just wasn't the same from when he returned from Africa. It may have been down to missing the penalty, but that shouldn't matter. He still is a good player so putting him in the starting line up for few games wont be a bad thing. But I'd prefer to have Ox starting instead. When it comes to Rosicky, yeah i might have been a bit harsh lol. He done really well for us this season. Him and Arteta could rotate around, I guess. And finally, Theo, well due to the fact that he's really poor at times - I'd keep him on the bench. However, that might not be such a bad thing, his pace in the 70th minute would kill most full backs. Could be a great advantage at times (especially when we're a goal down). And on the bright side, that looks like a pretty decent bench lol x

Ah didnt't realise Almunia was out, in that case a reserve keeper may be beneficial, but then Wenger will probably promote Mannone/Martinez. Fabianski's a more than capable 2nd choice IMO, hope he stays.

Podolski on left midfield/wing. Really? Now I haven't seen him play in a while but last time I checked he wasn't the most pacey or mobile player. It's a bit of an odd signining but the dude has probably the hardest shot in football and is a German so can't be bad. Wenger's seen something clearly.

He plays on the left wing for the Germany, and I have seen him play there for Koln.

Fair enough. I've not seen a great deal of him. I always figured he was more of a central forward.

He may well be, but he has the ability to back it up.

I hope M'villa comes, he looks like he doesn't take any ****. That's exactly what we need some players who can bring mental strength, confidence and arrogance to the table. Just to scare the other players into playing better, we don't have anyone who can do that at the moment, maybe verm, but he doesn't have the ability to do so.

Sick of wenger bringing in so many mentally weak players, that's exactly why we don't win anything, can't handle pressure.

Podolski drifts in and out from the left wing for Germany/Koln. He's most accustomed to a 4-2-3-1 formation so he's not exactly a winger and not exactly a striker(Similar to Van Persie actually). For Germany he's been absolutely devastating cutting in from the left. I imagine Wenger imagine's playing him wide on the left for us.

He's an excellent signing, especially for £11m and I can easily see him chipping in 15+ goals from the left next season.

One concern is that playing international football is different to playing for Arsenal. It's not possible to maintain the level of intensity that Germany play in a tournament over 45+ games in a season so don't expect the same player you'll see at the Euros. Also he was a big fish at Koln. His relationship with the fans was similar to what Tony Adams had with us. So if he doesn't feel loved or finds himself on the bench, he may struggle. I think a good start to the season for him is very important.

Overall, I think if Rosicky/RVP can maintain their form, Wilshere/Sagna can maintain their fitness and we can get M'Vila/Vertonghen/new attacking Midfielder/Another new striker and perhaps a new left back, whilst clearing out 8/9 big earners(Ramsey/Arshavin/Vela/Bendtner/Djourou/Almunia/Diaby/Chamakh/Park/Denilson) we'll be up their with City next year.

Benayoun is fine but I think AFC can do better. We're not going to challenge for trophies with him. If he's not good enough for CFC then why is he good enough for us?

To be honest if you look at the first XI Arsenal have barring injury

GK: Scezny (spelling is horrible I knw)
    Def: Sagna, Koscielny, Vermalen, Gibbs
Mid: Song, Arteta, Ramsey/Wilshire (doubt he'll hit ground running after injury)
    Att: Walcott, RVP, Podolski

That is a top class team especially having the Ox, Santos and Gervinho as possible subs off the bench.
I have not seen M'Villa but if he's not that special I'm happy just to have Coquelin and Frimpong get more game time

The one player I'd love to come in but will not happen is Leighton Baines from Everton, top class left-back. Anyone else bought could add to the squad I s'pose
All day long mate. Not convinced by Gibbs/Santos at all.
Knowing Wenger though we'll start looking for a Left back in late September 2014...
