Re: The Arsenal Thread XIINo, he'll alternate positions with mata during the match, bayern and real madrid do the same thing with robben, ribery and muller.(Original post by charlie9872)
So where does that leave him at Chelsea then? Is he going to take Mata's position at Chelsea? No - and if he does, where would that leave Mata? On the bench.
Although, with aguero, balotelli, silva, nasri. All of which have the quality to displace hazard from the team and bench him this wouldn't work especially as they're all first team key players.
Chelsea really have marin, mata and ramires to compete with his role. Hazard will easily displace marin.
Anyway, yeah this is the arsenal thread,
Arsenal: tbh as soon as man united were interested, you were never gonna get kagawa. Plus I reckon kagawa would want to go to a team with a higher chance of winning titles, which is more likely at united.Last edited by jam277; 28-05-2012 at 22:15. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIHe is going to Bremen for the year as part of the Marin deal and he wouldnt have came to us because Drogba is his idol so he wanted to go Chelsea(Original post by Kruz)
I wondering will Lukaku get any playing time? If he came to us, Wenger would have played him more. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
I watched his last few games for Lille and he was simply majestical, I'm looking forward to see if he'll make an impact in the PL (hopefully not at our expense). He does come across as quite cocky but I have a feeling that Lille were encouraging him in order to milk him for all he's worth; needless to say he is very confident and self-assured, which could serve him well in the PL.
Man Utd will most definitely get Kagawa now though.

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIII can't believe you're still not bored of that.(Original post by Zizou>All)
if arsenal had zidane (he's 40 now) they would win the league next season
fact. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIWell one of the first Africans he signed on was Kanu who definitely wasn't French speaking. Another one is Lauren Etame who is Spanish speaking from Equatorial Guinea who became Cameroonian for convenience and barely understood French and never could string a sentence together. You also mentioned Frimpong from Ghana.(Original post by jam277)
Pretty much all of the africans are from french speaking countries mate.
Cameroon, togo, congo, those kinda countries.
Before anyone says frimpong, he was eligible for england and had been living here but switched.
Anyway, I like his style. I remember some pundit saying that the hernandez signing would be a typical wenger signing, before wenger become the manager, he told the board to get viera and no one knew who he was.
It is very arguable that Arsene Wenger's signings have been some of the most diverse and multicultural in football. He brought in more of his Frenchies than is healthy but otherwise he tried almost all nationalities in footballing world. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
Who are we gonna get?
I read another article which states wenger said its gonna be another quiet transfer window like every season. Earlier said he will buy only quality and now he says he won't. I guess its time to accept the good old days have gone far behind us? The joy of having a quality player coming is never gonna happen
Yeah we got podolski but rvp wants to leave

Re: The Arsenal Thread XII**** me. The transfer window hasn't even opened yet. Just relax and let Wenger do his thing.(Original post by Xamanus)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIEff that we need to pile pressure on them this year so we actually start to move forwards rather than backwards, it's all give and no take over the last few years with Arsenal. I know posting here isn't going to change anything but that is what needs to happen(Original post by Darth Vader 7)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIIn fairness though, it's not last year and compared to the top teams we're competing with, we're not really competing.(Original post by jilebinator)
Calm down about transfers, we have already got one good player, I would have killed for podolski last year. -

Arsenal 03/04. What we should strive to improve on.
Really miss going down to Highbury to see Bergkamp, Wright, Overmars and Adams....such a simpler time before the concept of a 300k/week contract existed.
Also, why hasn't Dennis Bergkamp got a statue, or any kind of recognition from AFC? Obviously Henry deserves one, but i can remember when DB was the main man...Last edited by Zürich; 29-05-2012 at 09:32. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
Best Arsenal XI in your lifetime?
Seaman/Crazy Jens
Sagna
Adams(C)
Sol
Cole
Pires/Overmars
Vieira
Fabregas
V.Persie
Bergkamp
Henry
if I could, Paul Merson would make an appearance. I think the day I found out that Sol would be leaving the Sp*urs for the Arsenal goes down as one of the happiest days.Last edited by Zürich; 29-05-2012 at 09:50.
