Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
oh well, let's sell him and move on.. See many people supporting this statement, but it has basically forced us to sell him. Proper way to respond would be to show ambition and strengthening the squad, but that's not going to happen so guess it will be another season battling for 4th

This doesn't hurt as much as Cesc though, kinda getting used to it now too. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIII don't know how I would feel about TW going. I know he is **** the majority of the time, but he has his flashes of brilliance.(Original post by Zürich)
I hope we get an offer for Walcott. Complete waste of space 90% of the time. -

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIWe should sign Usain Bolt to replace Walcott since he is even faster but with much greater footballing ability.(Original post by shamwow)
Wenger should get Hoilett to replace Walcott

Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
I'm so disappointed in Van Persie, especially the way he's handled the whole situation. However I'm not too bothered by his exit, the team will adapt and next season the goals will just come from more sources rather than constantly looking to play everything through one player. Hopefully whatever money we do get for him is spent on players in positions we need and the team as a whole use this as an opportunity to show they can win trophies.

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIGot some negs there pretty quickly, oh and I live pretty near you lol.(Original post by Straight up G)
Haha, I called Arsenal a selling club and got about 8 negs. Truth hurts?
I write this in the knowledge that I'll receive some more -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIHe'll most likely be sold unless we only receive paltry offers (sub £15m I'm guessing) or he changes his mind, which looks highly unlikely.(Original post by Isometrix)
Can someone clarify if this means he'll be sold this summer or see out the end of his contract (which won't be great news to you if he leaves for free)? -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIHe'll be sold. He’s burnt his bridges anyway, and went too far with what he said. He effectively came out with a verbal transfer request which is sad but not surprising unfortunately.(Original post by Isometrix)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
How can people be indifferent to him leaving ? Or just focus all the anger/disappointment at him ? Everyone sitting idly by and watching another star name go and barely batting an eye lid, until people let the club know it isnt good enough nothing will change. This is a watershed moment

Anyone who bangs on about how he only had one good year or is injury prone is a ****ing mong who should look at the big picture of why players keep leaving not focus on slagging those players off
I looked.
Because we dont pay them the extorntionate wages City do?
Yes thats why, **** better get some arabs in our club aswell then yeah> -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XII
Before Gazidis joined Arsenal
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/art...#ixzz1zh2bEu1yvan Gazidis, the deputy commissioner of Major League Soccer in the United States, has become the latest administrator to turn down a big football job in Manchester because he did not fancy relocating there.
Gazidis,43, a double Oxford football blue, had been lined up for weeks to become Manchester City executive chairman, according to U.S. sources.
Like former BA chief Martin George, who was offered the commercial director's post at Manchester United but did not want to leave London, Gazidis does not want to bring back his family from Connecticut, where the MLS have their headquarters.
The snub is all the more remarkable as Gazidis, who has a wife and two sons, professes to be a City fan and went to school in Manchester.
Daily Mail but you never know. It's probably just a coincidence but it's a bit weird with us selling so many players to City. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIWell, earlier I did suggest some form of protest against the board. They are happy to collect our money and not spend it, but instead, just line their pockets.(Original post by alexsong)

Us Arsenal fans, need to hit them where it hurts. Stop buying merchandise, stop going to games and renewing season tickets. Something which will make the board realize that we are not mugs and are not prepared to take this **** anymore. -
Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIWe just need to start acting like a football club and not a business. RVP isnt going for a money as much as it might ease the pain to pretend he is. How can one of the richest clubs in the world moan about money in the game anyway ? We have so many **** contracts that we supposedly cant pay those who deserve it. Meanwhile the club turns healthy profits and it seems like the board line their pockets and the accounts show balances of about 110m.(Original post by Bear_Grylls)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIWenger signed 2 highly rated strikers and it's looking likely there will be a few more signings made so it's not like he was doing nothing. Van Persie's deluded if he thinks we can go out and spend £40m on a world class player but I think he knows full well we can't and is just using this as a reason to absolve himself from any sort of blame in the situation.(Original post by alexsong)

Re: The Arsenal Thread XIIThere's not a huge amount the club can do. I agree we could spend quite a bit more but I think Arsenal just have to get through the next couple of years until we pay down our debts/arrange new sponsorships. With the Emirates I think it's a case of having to take a step backwards to move forward.(Original post by alexsong)
