Re: UEFA Champions League Final 2012I agree, there isn't a single team in Europe who want to win the Champions League more than Chelsea. The very fact they won a tie at the Nou Camp with 10 men proves they can do it!(Original post by xxm)
I honestly think Chelsea will do it. Providing they can get Luiz and Cahill fit.
Also, let's face it, fate dictates they'll do it, just because JT is banned!

Re: UEFA Champions League Final 2012Agreed. Also, Bayern's strongest possible back line in my eye's isn't that strong either. And with Badstuder suspended it will be weakened and Gustavo will be a big loss also.(Original post by MittenRef)

Obviously, Chelsea will be weakened. Ramires will be hugely missed as he has been a big player for Chelsea this season. As has Ivanovic. -
Re: UEFA Champions League Final 2012
I just hope Didier scores a goal in between the harsh bone crunching tackles (/touches) that will send him into such incredible pain he will be on the floor, unfortunately holding up the game. Hopefully it will be a 40 yard belter that will go in off of the referees crotch. Then I will be happy.

Worrying stat.
*The three previous Munich finals have all seen first time winners of the trophy
Good stat.
I'm very superstitious (writing's on the walllllllllllll..) so reading stats isn't good for my attitude towards the final. Although I believe it's our year with how much luck we've had this year.
Whatever happens we won't be in the Champions League final again for 3 or so years imo. So it could be our last chance for some time, then it'd have to be 3rd time lucky..
VERY worrying not having a defence or Rambo who's been our main man this season, important goals and he runs for years.
Guessing we'll defend mostly and counter attack but not as bad as the Barca games, I hope. -
Re: UEFA Champions League Final 2012
Bayern are strong favourites to win, and I think that suits Chelsea. It enables the team go there and play with less pressure and have a real go at them. Thinking back to the 2008 final where United were favourites, Chelsea dominated the 2nd half and most of extra time after being completely lost for the first 45.
It seems too perfect for Bayern to win the trophy on their home ground. In a year where the two top teams in English football crashed out in December, APOEL from Nicosia are one of the top eight sides on the continent of Europe and a final with neither Barcelona or Real Madrid has popped up, who's to say Chelsea can't beat Bayern in their own backyard? Let the bizarro world Champions League season continue! -
Re: UEFA Champions League Final 2012
UEFA have confirmed John Terry will be allowed to lift the trophy. Absolute first class bull**** on their part to allow a player that's suspended and won't play in the game to resume that role afterwards, they weren't willing to make that exception for Keane in '99.
