Also, what about all the student houses like Hillside Woodside, Osborne Villas, St Michaels etc...?

    Re: Northwell House?
I lived in Northwell house as a 1st year, and then stayed 2 more years. I obviously liked it enough!

To be honest it is a "different" experience to hall life. I was fortunate to have about 10 school friends scattered around the halls so got to spend a fair bit of time around Stoke Bishop, etc and there was always a sense that I was missing out a little. But, on the other hand, the Northwell crowd were a good bunch and I made some good friends. There always used to be a strong foreign contingent which made for a diverse time.

I recall going out one night and sitting round a table of 12 and no two people were from the same country, I have some great memories from staying there.

The location is a bit more towny which I quite liked, I enjoyed heading to the clubs down stokes croft way but underground techo isn't for everyone! Can be a bit seedy round there too. Was a bit shocked the first time I got propositioned on the way home but it didn't happen too often!

But you're close enough to Uni, shops are walkable, or at least a bus ride away, and it was always cheaper than some other places.

I had a great time at Bristol and like I said I stayed in Northwell for two more years (and met my wife lol!).

Say Hi to Flat 4 ;-)
