I doubt this game is going to live up to the hype.

    The hype?..
The hype is how important is it, not that there is going to be 15 goals in the match or something.

Somebody on sky sports before said it was the biggest game in English football history. I'm not having that.

Yes, but at least Chelsea were closer to challenging Manchester United's dominance than City (minor title challenge in 1998-1999, FA Cups in 1997 and 2000, final in 2002, Cup Winners Cup in 1998). City were mid-table mediocrity.

Besides, Blackburn did it well before Chelsea. Everyone buys the title to some extent (Newcastle almost did it themselves, as I'm sure you know). Ginola, Asprilla, Ferdinand, Shearer...they weren't free. Shearer being the most expensive player in the world at the time (up until Ronaldo a year later).

    What a line up.....

Park, who hasn't played in ages and Giggs who had a nightmare at Wigan. Rooney will get isolated and we'll have no attacking bite. It's definitely being set up to try and control the midfield and contain.

Look where City were before the takeover, a mid to lower tier team with no chance of improving. To get to level of United, Chelsea etc you need to spend big, there's no other way around it. Every team at the top spends A LOT of money, its just that City did it in a much shorter space of time to be able to compete and challenge for the title.

Can't wait for the game, literally buzzing. Will be interesting to see how the United defence copes with Aguero and Tevez, their pace could be deadly today.

Wow, the sort of line up that instantly takes ant confidence you have away. Just hoping all will be okay somehow. :erm:
