Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?Look, why do you reply when you ignore what I post?(Original post by boba)
yes to protect them from abusive adults not each other.
the reaction to the chemicals produced during sex will not significantly change between those ages.
I didn't say 12 and 21 year olds were the same infact that was my actual point that they are not the same yet there are countries that have their age of consent at both of these showing that it is fairy aribitary.
pregnancy can be very dangerous for lots of people who have a range of conditions should these people also be banned from ever having sex? They aren't having sex to get pregnant, getting the pill is to stop them getting pregnant so I find you constantly saying that pregnancy is dangerous a little irrelevant.
not having sex would be a responsible decision, as would taking precautions if you decide that you do infact want to have sex.
And your now trying to link 16 and 18 year olds having sex to a rise in depression and obesity? seriously? and relationships aren't "broken" because they involve sex. A relationship isn't bad because it might not last forever. I know that when I think of past relationships all I feel is happy about the good memories and what I have learnt from them they haven't harmed me and I'm sure almost everyone is capable of dealing with ended relationships in a healthy way even if it is sad a first.
I have stated a multitude of times that they do need to be protected from each other due to ignorance and naivety on their behalf.
Ever thought that some countries are stupid?
What happens if they forget to take the pill and do get pregnant? Remember, these are children. They will forget to do homework, and frankly, if someone is rough enough to be having sex at 13, I doubt they will remember to take the pill.
What I said was that because sex is so casual in this country along with a lack of morals, this has led to the huge mental problems this country faces.

Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill? And what exactly makes the UK age of 16 the correct age?
Source for this claim? Sex has always been partly casual actually, pick up a history book and you'll see that. Just because you have some good ol' Victorian ideas about sex doesn't make you right or make sex immoral. Human history is full of sex happening for many reasons other than to procreate and if you don't think this is true...start reading some history.

Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill? The problem with this is the same problem that has meant that Freud has been largely discredited. You say that nobody is healthy doing a certain thing and then if someone says they are you say 'No, you're in denial'.(Original post by Jimbo1234)
Right, please go and educate yourself on the psychology of human sexual behaviour as it is complex, well documented, and is why I have said everything I have. No woman is able to comfortably sleep about, to claim that is simple denial on their part.
Again, go learn what happens when you have sex. It is not just in-out-in-out *bam* all done, and again, this is why it is not the same for children and adults.
Because there's no way to disprove a theory with that kind of approach, it generally isn't seen as scientific. -
Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?I'm afraid that it is simply your personal prejudice, nothing to do with "fact". Plenty of women comfortably sleep about, it's because of people like YOU with your wanton moralising and judging it to be wrong which forces them to be uncomfortable with their sexuality.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

I bet you still believe that women can't enjoy sex and must "lie back and think of England" like in Victorian times!!
!
More vagueness, do you even have an answer for why you think this or are you just making it up as you go along? Rationalising illogical prejudices must be pretty tiring.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

your wise words are clearly not reflected well in your one million negative reps. I shall pos rep you for being one of the few people in the country with common sense -

It is called science. Do not post if you think science and ignorance are the same.More vagueness, do you even have an answer for why you think this or are you just making it up as you go along? Rationalising illogical prejudices must be pretty tiring.
Look at the studies, even ask the people on TSR. Those who have studied mating with primates or study psychology come up with the same results. You have to remember that it was the trend of women not being able to do that which sparked the interest in this field, not the other way around which would lead to a biased opinion.(Original post by minimarshmallow)

Since you mention primates, the females of our closest relatives are even more promiscuous than we are. Women have always have always had casual sex since Homo Erectus. Why do you think they moan during sex? -

For more just search for the topic in google scholar and you will see the wealth of research which founded my view.
So can I see your sources? -
Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill? You are basing whether women can enjoy casual sex on whether they immediately say yes to sex with some random guy on a university campus?(Original post by Jimbo1234)

What you don't seem to understand is that the reason women will deny they enjoy casual sex is because it is what society expects of them, and people like you. You shame them into conforming and convincing them they are worthless if they have casual sex. It is completely societal and cultural, nothing to do with biology.
When no one is judging them and shaming them, women enjoy casual sex as much as men. Just like how Christians can't enjoy sex without feeling guilty.
Robert Winston himself says "both women and men possess the same basic desire for sex. Winston's argument that it is because the woman wants to make sure she has a mate with good genes because she'd have to carry the baby, therefore she doesn't just say yes to anyone.
However, this doesn't mean a woman can't just pick attractive partners with good genes to have casual sex with, particularly when there's contraception and the possibility of a baby is less of a problem.
Just because women are more picky with their sexual partners does not mean they do not enjoy casual sex with attractive partners. Studies show women are more likely to have casual sex with no strings attached with a partner who is attractive. -
Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?Beat me to it(Original post by senator88)
The pill isn't just used as a contraceptive, it can be used for periods, acne etc. My friend has been on it since she was 12, but has never had sex
Also, choosing the correct contraceptive (apart from condoms) is something that should be discussed with a doctor regardless of age because of various side effects and how it may affect certain people. It should be explained properly, especially to a 13 year old -
Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?
Should 13 year olds even be having sex?
At 13 sex was still something i looked up in the dictionary to laugh at with my friends in Year 8 English.
I think i had my first kiss at 14,
and still didn't know what a tampon was at 13.
The whole idea 13 year olds are getting laid is mental. -

So you clearly did not watch all of it yet still try to comment on the video.
Basic common sense and biology will tell you why women don't like nor enjoy casual sex - because of pregnancy. If women enjoyed it, then many would sleep about and inevitably become pregnant. This would have been horrific and pretty much killed off female humans due to either death in labour, too many children too feed etc. Not many other animals are burdened with such a dangerous labour or useless infants which need to be hand raised for so long.
So for you to say "It is societal" simply shows how you have not researched or even thought about this issue
There is a huge difference between having a sex drive and enjoying casual sex. Why am I having to point this out?
Your last comment is just hilarious due to being so intrinsic. Of course women will prefer to sleep with attractive men as opposed to ugly ones

Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill? You are a fine lad, sir. Always good to look out for our 13 year old brothers.(Original post by fosterwho)
yes they should. teenage boys are very horny beings and just want some tight pussy. -
Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?Yes.... I watched it all.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

First of all, women biologically want to get pregnant.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

It's not 'inevitable' if you practise safe sex, i.e. contraceptive pill and a condom.
Of course it is societal. Half the youtube comments below the documentary agree with me. Even Winston agrees with me, in the 2nd half of the program he explains why women practise infidelity (cheat), and why we are promiscuous.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

Gorilla have small testicles. They operate a harem.
Chimpanzees (like us) have big balls. They are promiscuous.
Winston explains that women sometimes cheat because their ovulation period leads them to have flings with men with masculine features and superior genes. i.e. casual sex. 1 in 8 men are bringing up a child which is not their own and not knowing it.
Women evolved to be promiscuous to increase sperm competition, it's also explained by the sexual dimorphism between the sexes. If they weren't meant to be promiscuous humans would have small balls and there would be very little difference in strength and bodies between the sexes.
The only reason those women said no to sex with that man is because of the social pressure and stigma of saying yes. Plus they are more picky with their sexual partners. If they were slightly drunk (lowering social inhibitions), had met a very attractive man who proved he was a catch and nobody was around to call them a slut, they would have.
And therefore they will have casual sex, depending on the attractiveness of the male. This has been proved in scientific studies.(Original post by Jimbo1234)

Re: Should 13 year old girls be able to get the pill?So you ignored the part talking about how due to the influx of hormones in the brain after sex, women have to subconsciously suppress it otherwise risk being too attached to a stranger which is extremely risky?(Original post by Stefan1991)

Oh, and mass public opinion on youtube instantly means it is correct?
Yes, because the masses are always well informed and logical!
Also, Chimps have larger testicles than ourselves, so clearly you failed to pay attention to the video.
Erm, where did it say women evolved to be promiscuous? Do you have any sources for that or simply ignorance to fuel your immoral view on life?
As I said, and you ignored, humans are very pathetic and giving birth and raising children, so if women were promiscuous, we would not be at 7 billion people.
