how do you know which block you're going to reside in?

In my accommodation contract only stated the halls name only, without any block or room number.

Somehow it's mentioned in my accommodation contract. it's the block near the music room and reception area at glen eyre. no room number is given though...

I got monte 3 as well, gonna study Maritime Law :smile:

They say that they try to put postgrad students together in halls, but not necessarily studying the same subject... Guess we'll see!

Any other maritime law/law students here??

So postgraduate students live in a flat together? I really hope so! I was thinking that the freshers might look at me like an ancient person haha! I was also remembering how I was when I started Uni and suddenly got worried that I would get no work done done and would probably be living in a mess!

As far as I've read on the forums and what my friends who attended Soton postgrad told me, postgrads mostly are surrounded with other postgrads, maybe have 1 or 2 undergrads they share kitchens and facilities with.

I'm guessing it's not ideal to mix up undergrads with postgrads for any of them, I'm sure I would be QUITE annoyed if I were trying to do some research or write my thesis or w/e and there was a wild party going on outside and they would hate me for being a buzzkill :biggrin:

What do you think of the Monte 3 rooms btw? The pics dont really look that appealing :frown:

Not saying I don't like a party but this year is gonna be haaaard haha! We could be potential flat mates then if there are postgrads grouped together! I'm happy enough with them. Just really glad I got ensuite! I reckon as soon as I get all my stuff in there it will be perfect :smile:

Not sure if there are many international students here, but is anyone joining meet and greet?? i figured it would be nice to socialise with as many people as possible because my friends said it took them more than a month to get to know people since they missed out on the early activities...

anyways, i m thinking of getting there on the 18th and will probably get the room im gonna stay for the rest of the year, will let you know if i find out something concrete about the halls and the "ratio" of pg/ug students in monte 3 :smile:
