    No.

Voting age should stay as it is. I'm an intelligent 19 year old and I still struggle to understand some political agendas so I fail to see how the vast majority of 16 year olds will be able to cope with the decision.

Plus - most will be in school still, they're in an environment where they can be easily influenced by authority figures (still true later in life but more so in an educational institution I think). Hell, even some of my 18+ year old friends tick boxes "because their parents told them to"

Its a war zone, of course its scary. Its hardly going to be a holiday resort.

You can't criticise them, they're in a built up area with terroists and a threat of death. You dont know what it'd be like to be in that situation, so you cant just play the blame game.
Aww that's sweet "blame game". They know exactly what they sign up for. Ignored all I said. And as I said, have FUN when the same happens to your house.. I mean war zone. You probably come from a little white boy area where you don't experience **** except for what BBC news tells you and the odd "lad" enlists in the army. I know what kind of ****s sign up.. it's the governments fault we fight in an injust war but obviously that means we get mostly wastemen in the army.
"Scary place" doesn't mean its right to kill innocent people. You idiots chat **** about people in North Korea being brainwashed but you are the most brainwashed of all. "threat of death." Pussies. A ****ing soldier is supposed to EXPECT death, war isn't supposed to be a JOB it's supposed to be and EXPEDITION.. this war is a JOB because it's more like a GENOCIDE mission. Hiding behind walls and shooting at eachother lightly for up to 10 years isn't called being brave, nor is being blown up by an IDE.

Btw it isn't a holiday resort ANYMORE because the british.. nay ****ish army gone dun ****ed it up w/ nato. Taliban wasn't able to do **** to the whole place, there was Ahmad Shah Massoud but the ****ish army didnt do **** to protect him and his desireable government did they? Just felt like "protecting" the people 5 years after the taliban had power and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmad_Shah_Massoud got assassinated.

But alas I await **** like "I find you disrespectful", "They have their lives on the line" propaganda crap.

some people are more politically aware than others - regardless of age groups. a lot of adults do not properly understand politics. besides, it is unfair to restrict it according to political awareness, because then it would not be one person one vote and requirements could exclude the less educated classes...
Then it was unfair to restrict me when I was 13, because IMO I was smarter than most voting adults. Unfeasable right? If not, then by all means give them the vote.

Because older people are parents? Umm did you miss the point where I was talking about constituency? People are like the environment they live in. I don't want to tell you where I live but I bet most kids my age in my area can't even define the world liberal (well actually most in my class first heard my RE teacher say it and still don't know what it means).
Does constituency not apply to people over 18? I understand that younger people are more impressionable, but many adults are indifferent and don't think too much before they vote. the 16 year olds I know seem to be able to think rationally enough and are thoughtful enough to make that type of a decision. where i come from the adults do not seem that much more clued up than 17 year olds. maybe it should be lowered to 17

obviously not 13 - you were the exception whereas at 17 you would probably be more the norm. also, despite how intelligent people are at 13, they would be inclined to vote for who there parents/teachers vote for; however, at 17, people are more independent and much more rational.

No, because they'd vote for whoever their friend voted for.

The voting age in Guernsey is 16 and tbh I think it should be that here. If a young person leaves school and starts work at the age of 16 then they should (usually) start paying taxes. If the government is taking tax off that 16 year old then the 16 year old should definitely have say in where it goes.

It doesn't matter if their sense of politics is a bit off, it's their right as a taxpayer to have a say in the government. Similarly, many 16 year olds are have a deeper mind than many middle aged folks.

Cool then, get some guys to kill everyone in your town. Don't even cry ****. You need to die so that they can get to the safe point so just sit back and take it. It isn't genocide, stop trolling.
No I come from a whiteboy area where instead of everyone being a little wiseass who backs a dirty army, everyone is a dumbass who backs a dirty army. It's sad when wiseasses agree with the dumbasses on bullcrap but that's democracy for you.

No.. I actually wouldn't have. Well I would have, but that's only because in "democracy" there's only 2 real choices and according to basic probability, there's a high chance that I'd vote for the same party as my parents even if I didn't vote for the same reasons.

Eurofighter Typhoon a great piece of aeronautical engineering. Death is inevitable and happens naturally in nature anyway, its been happening for millions of years, so stop acting like the the government are Nazi war mongers planning to kill every single Afghan by 'genocide'. What did the Americans do to Al Queda for them to hit the twin towers?

Dont question my level of History

Lol! Couldn't refute it at all, could you? You're truly insecure, and my words have encapsulated your mind, your thoughts. Know this. You may never admit it online. You may never admit it in person. But you know what I have said it true. Refute all you like, you know what you think. Have fun pondering, after all, tools are helpful.

I used to be in support of lowering the voting age to 16, but I've changed my views now I'm 18. In my opinion there is a big gap between 16 and 18, and I feel like I've grown up a lot/matured in between. So in answer to your question, I don't think the voting age should be lowered.
Don't want to get too involved in this debate, but in two more years time, maybe you will be thinking that we should increase the votig age to 20. People always think that they know better than people younger than them, but that is not necessarily true. On topic, I am quite apathetic tbh and don't think it will make much of a difference.

Stay in midlands you stupid country boy. "Tool". And why shouldn't I question your history? You don't seem to have acknowledged anything that I have said. Brainwashed by this 9/11 bull****. "They die naturally so might aswell kill them". Yeah might as well watch someone nuke the midlands, maybe you'll be amongst those dead.

Well I wouldn't expect an idiot wanting to join such a dirty industry to think otherwise. Hahah euro****er ****phoon. Waste of money. "we canz fly plane, ma! coz we ****ed people to make money to make plane to **** more people! it has a processor in it that does half the work!".

No you've totally blown the whole thing out of proportion, to make war look unjust. Very little innocent murders are held out and the Americans (and English) are hardly carrying out Genocide. If you think that's genocide look at the Nazi's, 'know your history'.

No no, you truly are brainwashed. Your personality may argue but your mind is in despair. Imagine when this inevitable war comes to your beloved midlands. Envision and galore.
Well I truly hope it doesn't, because I don't want any innocent to die, not even a brainwashed persona such as you. At least I presume that you're innocent.

If you have to pay tax at 16, then you should have a say on who runs the country. Afterall, they're spending your money.
You don't have to be 16 to pay tax. If an 8 year old buys a pasty they pay tax on it.
