Re: A Lawyer
Trainee salaries vary greatly depending on the type of firm you train at. The SRA currently set a minimum salary for trainees of £18,590 in central London and £16,650 elsewhere, so if you are looking at smaller firms that's the likely salary range. Larger firms often pay more, some up to double the minimum in the 2nd year.

Re: A Lawyer
As stated above, it all depends on the firm.
However, most posters on TSR tend to focus their applications on larger City firms. Such firms pay very healthy salaries to trainees in both their first and second years of training. They also pay GDL and/or LPC fees, as well as offering a maintenance allowance whilst studying (typically around £5,000-7,0000 each year).
Salaries vary during the two year training period, but the following link should give you a rough idea: http://www.rollonfriday.com/InsideIn...8/Default.aspx
As the above posted correctly highlighted, if one secured a TC at, say, a small high street firm, then salaries tend to be considerably less (around 18-20K).
Hope this helps.Last edited by Cheese and Chives; 30-04-2012 at 14:57. -
Re: A LawyerYou see that bit where it says '2nd year salary'? Yeah? That's the second year salary surprisingly enough.(Original post by jordonpat)
You can not say what are the pays on the second year basis, it depends upon your performance and your interactions.
