Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?
I'm not going to lie, it was a bit naff. I barely knew my flatmates at all which made it a bit uncomfortable. Loads of people find it a great way to meet people etc but I'm a tad socially awkward in new situations like that so it wasn't much fun for me! Doesn't mean it'll be like that for you though
and it's all good now
edit: although that wasn't my first time clubbing, I went out with my school friends for a good 2 years before I came to uni! That was much better

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?
My first time was the day after my 18th birthday in college. It was genuinely fun. I was the only one of my mates who didn't get any attention from the other gender, but I didn't mind. Got a few good memories from it too. The last few times going out haven't been as fun though

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?
My 18th birthday was 2 days before results day for A levels, so my first time out was results night. As I'm a country bumpkin, I was staying with a friend who lived in the city so I had to stick with her all night. It was great while most of my friends were around, but once they went home I was stuck trailing after the friend I was staying with and the guy she'd pulled til 5am getting way too sober :L Not the best night.

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?Sorry but thats awful logic. I can't remember watching Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - doesn't make it good though.(Original post by rach [shikari])
I can't remember. Means it was probably good.

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?
I went along with lots of people in Fresher's Week, but tbh I got so terrified by it all that I left with another person after like half an hour. It was heaving with people and people were throwing up on the bar etc. It took me a few times to get comfortable with the whole situation, what to do when entering, how to get a drink, when to leave etc. (I was very shocked that people went at 12 and didn't leave till 3. I was used to going to bed at 11!) It also took me a while to work out what to wear/take. I started off with jeans, big jacket, big bag, brolly and plenty more ridiculous stuff. Now I go in skirt, top, FLATS (the wearing heels experiment didn't go well), small bag and only the essentials. Btw I don't drink so I haven't had an experience of getting totally trashed etc.

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?
Went to club. Paid to get in. Half my group decided that they didn't like the club and went to another one. Other half, including me, remained in the club to finish our drinks that we had just purchased. We then decided to go somewhere else since the only reason we went to the original club was because everyone else had gone there. However when we got to the other venue, for reasons that I do not know, we decided not to enter. We then spent the rest of the night walking around looking for the other half of the group.
Decided we would go to a well known club which was more our thing but was refused entry since we were 'overdressed'. Found the club where the other half were but the entry fee was astronomical. Went home, cooked pizza and had some drinks. Went to bed.
All in, I spent about £10 for one drink and got soaked in the rain.Last edited by InnerTemple; 29-04-2012 at 00:17. -
Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?Well, before going to a proper nightclub with friends we always stayed local (we live in a rural town) so the first big night out was incredible. Drinks you wouldn't get in a local bar, loads of drinks promotions, later hours and lots more people. At the first club I went to (Box, Belfast) I thought the place was huge...we go there all the time now, the place still seems big (but not as big as we thought) and the novelty has slightly disappeared(Original post by Miracle Day)
So chances are, alot of you guys would have went the first time on freshers or at Uni? What was it like?

Re: What was your first night 'clubbing' like?Back home, I had been clubbing at age 16- went a few times, but the novelty starts to wear off.(Original post by Miracle Day)

The only way to make it interesting/ fun:
1. Be with people you trust (who will pry you away from crazy men!)
2. Make sure you have cash on you (do not bring a card, otherwise you'll end up spending way too much on booze)
3. If you are female and wearing heels, have flats in your bag (big bag which you can keep in the cloak room!)
4. Pre-game (you wont buy as much club booze)
5. Wear something nice which make you feel confident
6. ALWAYS keep your phone on you
Personally, I'm not a fan of clubbing anymore- the need to stay up really late, and wake up with a major hangover is no longer appealing to me. I have plenty of friends who love it. I'm just not one of them.
Occasionally, you'll see me at the pub with some friends, not the clubs.
and it's all good now
