Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Last year you needed:(Original post by katie182)
when you say people dont do well in the exam, i totally agree i was looking at the examiners report and the average marks on the whole paper is between 39-44 so thats around a D eeeeek :/
66 for an A
56 for a B
46 for a C
36 for a D
26 for an E
00 for a U
Here is a good link.
Just make sure you select psychology PY4 at the top.
It tells you the raw marks and so on if you want to look more in depth.
Hope that helps

Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Memory = msm and alternatives of msm(Original post by stunnaman)
What Question is most likely to come up for;
-memory
-relationships
-Abnormal pyshcology
Abnormal - biases and treatments of schizophrenia.
I didn't study relationships, I did forensics. -
Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Thank you!! i thought to myself i may aswell do the ones most likely to come up first hopefully it will work lol(Original post by JessNurden)

Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Well, that is a good plan, but I do advise that you learn all the essays (minus 1 controvery). Good luck though. I wish I had people to study with with psychology. It's kinda hard to. I've learnt 1 essay over 2 days (done 12 so far) and I read through these each day. It's hard work. But you only need a little over half marks to get an A.(Original post by stunnaman)

Lol. No no, I still have 8 essays left to do (I'm planning on covering all of them).
Well, I understand the pressure of having lots of other exams. Mine are all roughly together, which I don't appreciate (law 15th, psych 18th, english 20th, law 22nd).
I think if you can write good essays, you can learn them and just write them from memory in the exam (that's what I'm doing anyway). You'll be fine, but I do think it'd be hard for you to learn everything in 15 days.
I'm expecting to get an A in this exam, I really need the A, so it's some pressure. I need 84 UMS marks :L But as long as the grade boundaries are the same as last year, fingers crossed I'll be okay >.< -

Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by symptoms which can be split into two categories - "Positive", such as hallucinations, paranoia and delusions, and "Negative", such as alogia - loss of speech - and avolition - lack of motivation. It affects around 24 million people worldwide, and because of this, it is an illness that researchers are eager to discover the cause of. Some researchers believe that biological factors are the cause of schizophrenia, but others argue that the onset and maintenance of the disorder is caused by psychological factors.(Original post by stunnaman)

Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012
I got two more studies to learn and then I'm done
! I still have to review all of the Memory/Sleep essays, but other than that, I'm good
Hey, can someone help me? I got 116/120 UMS Marks for PY2, 77/80 for PY3, and I think 45/60 for PY1.
How many UMS marks do I therefore need in PY4 to get an A overall? -
Re: WJEC PY4 - June 18th 2012Well at the moment, if you didn't take the exam you'd have a D. You need 82 to get an A.(Original post by ConstantlyStressed)
