University of Sussex Primary PGCE 2012
    Hey all,

There doesn't seem to be any threads about this at all anywhere, so I thought I would try it myself.

Has anyone got onto the new Primary PGCE that is starting September 2012? I confirmed my offer this week, so would be good to hear from anyone who is also on the programme!

    Hey Will,

I received an email yesterday telling me I'd been offered an interview for the Primary PGCE, but I'm not sure when it will be yet. How did you find the interview process?

    Thanks, Flavia

    Hello Flavia,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Have you been informed of your interview date yet?

The interview process was very intense, but the programme staff did their utmost to keep the atmosphere jovial. They took the time to talk to each one of us during the day, either at lunch or during breaks to find out who we were. That was nice.

It was very well organised. I was impressed with this and in turn, they did a good job of making the university/programme seem attractive.

The programme co-ordinators also came across as very passionate, kind and welcoming. Even during the interview process they did not put on any particular face other than the one they had been showing all day. This was comforting because it gave a hint as to the kind of mentors they would be for us on the PGCE.

Overall, I would not worry about it at all. So long as you believe in yourself, are passionate not only about the education of children, but also your own personal self-development and you have something to bring to the table skills-wise, then you will find this particular interview process fun more than anything else :-)

I hope you do well!!! If you get it, let me know. Otherwise, best of luck - an interview equals great experience.

    Will
