Secured enough advertising to fund the Welcome Week issue without touching our budget so far! I've been stuck in the office a lot cold calling businesses though.

Issues are distributed all across campus and can be picked up in most academic buildings. Next year, we'll have dump bins with our logo on in busy areas of campus (TBC, but we're hoping for Founder's, The Hub, Windsor Building and the SU). If you're having trouble finding a copy, the Students' Union is always a sure place to get one.

In terms of the Welcome Week issue, we'll be standing around all week handing them out, so if you're out and about on campus you'll see us! We'll also be at the Media Fayre and Societies Fayre where people can find out more about getting involved.

Unfortunately there isn't a huge amount to do in the middle of the night if you're an insomniac. Well, there isn't anything to do at all apart from wander around campus; I just entertained myself with my computer!
    All right, cool, thanks.

I think I'll be joining the Psychology and Japanese societies along with the Ninjutsu club (sounds pretty badass).
I dare you to ask the sensei how to do a Rasengan :P

I'll probably join a couple of other clubs but the two I'm looking forward to joining are the football and American football teams

I'm hoping to give MMA a go and wondering if there is a rowing club? After watching it in the Olympics it looks like it would be fun.

There is a rowing club- a friend of mine rows. It sounds tough (lots of 6am starts!) but very fun and rewarding.

Someone has to keep it up to date I suppose

I would have put a brief description up too, but I was struggling hard to avoid writing something that didn't have some variant of "mass debate" in it

I don't think HvZ was ratified when I got sent the list. What's the other society you're referring to?

Re: Which clubs/societies do you wish to join?
Art, German, History.....maybe! And I know this will not make me many friends- but I'd love to be in a real book club none of my friends would ever go to one. My best friend came to one with me once and we both never went again, lots of old ladies talking about the book for five minutes and the rest about The Change (!). Maybe the English Litters will want to.

    And badminton.

Im really surprised there isnt a single society dedicated to any instrument. Its looking really likely i'll start a Guitar one while i'm there. Hopefully there are enough people to make one, and jamming with others helps you learn so much quicker (Ive only been playing a couple years).

Anyway Ill definitely join Spanish, maybe a dancing one that has some salsa, and Turkish societies (Im half Turkish, half American lol)... and im doing Economics with Spanish, so again, its a shame there isnt an Economics one :/

Does anyone know if the "Christians Together" society primarily evangelical in nature, or more mainstream?

Also, on a similar subject, what are the services in the chapel like?
