Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postyou mean, the devil doesn't actually have cloven feet ?(Original post by squishy123)
That is absolute rubbish. If you disagree, could you please give me your sources or evidence which says this?
I'm flabbergasted -

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postthis is a meaningless question(Original post by squishy123)
You don't believe in the devil, do you?
who/what is the devil ?
as humans, we are capable of the best as well as of the worst
if you want to call our destructive instincts "devil" , then yes, I believe in him
but he's a part of us, and we don't have cloven feet
most of us, that isLast edited by mariachi; 04-05-2012 at 23:46. -

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist post
Brothers and sisters,
Is anyone interested in buying modest Islamic swimsuits and Qur'an Ayats?
Qur'an ayats are from Surat Al-Baqara, Al-Rahman and Yaseen; all beautifully decorated and
handcrafted on the sides -- takes time to find.
Modest swimsuits are fully water and UV resistant and in excellent quality at attractive prices also.
Take a look and tell me what you guys think either way. Suggestions on any aspect are welcome.

Re: D&D Theology's "Ask About Islam" Thread Mk. IVEmpty refined carbs are far worse.(Original post by Ayshizzle)
You said it was practical for a women to find a husband in order to not become the "village bike"?!
Doritos, burgers, chips, Krispy Kreme donuts, deep fried foods in general, things high in saturated fat, and almost everything in those restaurants you see on Man vs Food (not sure if you've ever watched it but the food in those places is horrendous) -
Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postThere's a huge difference of why food isn't prohibited as you require food to survive and remain healthy. But that doesn't mean things like burgers, etc are not allowed, but rather you must eat modestly and keep your desires under control.(Original post by Ayshizzle)

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postNot to sure about this, many of my Muslim friends are adament that they would rather die than eat pork (whether they'd live up to their claims is a separate issue though). Do you really think Islam is that flexible?(Original post by squishy123)
Contrary to common rhetoric, Muslims ARE allowed to eat pork under certain circumstances, like if there is nothing to eat and a person is starving etc.
All meat increases your chances of developing cancer quite drastically, as well as other diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease. Pork is not a special case. Beef is actually worse for you in that respect, because you can get things like TB from it. Why didn't Allah ban that too? However, it has also been scientifically proven that various food which have originated in pigs can cause a person to be unhealthy and may potentially severely increase the risk of cancer.
The site you cited proves you wrong, so that's a bit awkward for you.A man in Islam can only have 4 wives IF he treats them all equally. If you then look at the statistics, you'll see that the number of females compared to males being born more is considerably higher and the fact is that they also live longer.
It clearly states that the world sex ratio is pretty much equal. -
Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postMy point to the person who I was posting to, was that saying "pork is banned in Islam because it's bad for you" could be a reason yes, but if God is so bothered about what you're eating he should have banned a whole other host of stuff too.(Original post by Iqbal007)

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postCholesterol? They didn't know about that back in the olden days.(Original post by Iqbal007)
1.Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased likelihood of blocked arteries. The fatty acids in pork are also of an unusual formation, when compared with the fatty acids in other types of food, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, thus increasing cholesterol levels. -
Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postWell, it is an option in Islam if you are starving or something similar:(Original post by SaintSoldier)
Not to sure about this, many of my Muslim friends are adament that they would rather die than eat pork (whether they'd live up to their claims is a separate issue though). Do you really think Islam is that flexible?
2:173 - "He has forbidden you only the Maitah (dead animals), and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than God (or has been slaughtered for idols). But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Truly, God is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful."
The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) reportedly said that one who does not eat meat for forty consecutive days will waste away, whereas to eat meat for forty consecutive days will harden the heart. In other words, one should moderate the intake of meat. All meat increases your chances of developing cancer quite drastically, as well as other diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease. Pork is not a special case. Beef is actually worse for you in that respect, because you can get things like TB from it. Why didn't Allah ban that too?
I was going for the diagram which was on the right of that page...The site you cited proves you wrong, so that's a bit awkward for you.

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postIt still does have an effect on your health.(Original post by squishy123)

But the rest of the page proves you wrong, so your point is invalid.I was going for the diagram which was on the right of that page... -
Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postA good effect? yeah, I know.(Original post by SaintSoldier)
It still does have an effect on your health.
No it doesn't. At any one time, there are more females in certain countries than men.But the rest of the page proves you wrong, so your point is invalid.
United Kingdom (Males): 30,202,183
United Kingdom (Females): 31,363,239
USA (Males): 155,244,097

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postThis might have already been covered. If not...(Original post by squishy123)
Contrary to common rhetoric, Muslims ARE allowed to eat pork under certain circumstances, like if there is nothing to eat and a person is starving etc.
However, it has also been scientifically proven that various food which have originated in pigs can cause a person to be unhealthy and may potentially severely increase the risk of cancer.
The reference looks at a specific type of cancer, mostly, and a specific type of meat. It hints at, but not greatly, red meats. This comes from just about any mammal. Granted you can get iron from some sources of plant, like tofu, but most studies would suggest eating meat as part of a balanced diet.
So if you suggest a reason for not eating pork is an increased cancer risk you remove any red meat. This includes cow, pig, duck, sheep etc etc etc. -
Re: D&D Theology's "Ask About Islam" Thread Mk. IVI haven't even got to the end of this thread yet but i think you're spot on.(Original post by Ayshizzle)
Yeah except I can't ride a bike...
The same type of moderation you were describing whilst talking about consumption of crisps/donuts/burgers and the like.
That is talking about processed pork. Pork itself wouldn't increase your risk by cancer by 19%.
I even said processed meat was bad for you above.
Ah, and look there are loads with other animals too:

Hmm maybe you should become a vegetarian

Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postBut thats why Muslims see the Qu'ran as a miracle....as it knew things from before(Original post by im so academic)
Cholesterol? They didn't know about that back in the olden days. -
Re: 2 Questions about islam - no this isnt a racist postWell the difference I already stated, there are no benefits to eating pig in Islam, whereas you can eat a lot of other things as long as you are being modest about it. Your not supposed to be over indulging, but eating so your alive and are healthy.(Original post by Ayshizzle)

Surely God must know this?
