Hi

I'm at school in Northern Ireland and I applied for the Nuffield Bursary Scheme by the deadline of February 17th 2012.

The induction/welcome evening is on the 28th May and I was wondering if anyone within the UK had been confirmed onto the scheme yet?

Starting to wonder if I haven't been successful - I haven't received confirmation yet and its getting closer to the induction evening

Hi, I've been offered a project. However, I wasn't told about the date of the induction yet. May I ask where did you get this info from?

Our teacher emailed our co-ordinator who told us it was most likely to be the 28th, although that date could change.

Could I ask what region in the UK you applied from? I haven't heard of anyone in Northern Ireland who's been successful yet

I applied for anything Biology related- there is a Diabetes Research Lab close to where I live so I was hoping to get a placement there.

Ideally in University I want to study medicine, so I hoped to get a project as biology based as possible; what have you applied for?

I recently received an email to say I was successful in my interview and that I have been offered a placement, I was so chuffed .
in the email it just said that the induction day was to be some time in May, but i was not given the actual date.

Email them again to clarify that you have been successful for your region and see what they say.

I've emailed my co-ordinator, and she replied yesterday saying that each applicant should be informed by the end of May, which is reasonably reassuring.

I don't think we're required for an interview?

what about you? do you know what your project is on?

My friend and I managed to get a place! I think we were the only two from our school who applied - it wasn't very well publicised and I'd found out about it independent of school anyway.

Our deadline was the 31st of March, we heard back by the 30th of April.

I'm doing mine at Anglia Ruskin
i had hoped for something medically related but didn't get anything medically related...at all but I'm just glad I've got a place, really looking forward to it!

I'm from northern Ireland and I got accepted to the buffield, tho I heard back in February tho in fairness I applied really late so they might have been working from the last applicants to the first? I received a letter and the induction days on the 28th..I didn't have any interview tho.. :/ hope to see you there!!
