Intelligence Analyst (initial interview)
Hi,
I've started my application process to become an intelligence analyst and have my initial interview tomorrow.
I can only really find information about the selection interviews which take place after you have taken your AST test so I was wondering if anybody could tell me what to expect in my initial interview and whether there is anything that I need to know? -
Re: Intelligence Analyst (initial interview)
Read through the threads - they'll give you information even if it is between the lines.
First chat is more informal, it's checking you're ready and aware of what's going to happen in the process.
And besides, being flexible and adaptable is a good thing if you're entering the Forces

So should I just really have some general knowledge about the RAF in general and my trade as I'm guessing that they won't be quizzing me too much about it all in my initial interview? -
Re: Intelligence Analyst (initial interview)First meeting is just to check your eligibility and for you to ask them questions which you may have, then you just book AST basically.(Original post by nhthomson94)

As a member of the RAF myself. I went into the interview open minded because if you don't then they will ask you open questions such as, so why did you want to join the RAF? and if you are not ready for a question like that then they will deem it unprofessional. However if you go in with an open mind they are more likely to find the questions alot easier. Also you will need to know questions like: When was the RAF first formed? Who formed the RAF? ect. You will also need a basic understanding of the career you want to enroll as. To be completely honest, I found the first interview a doddle because instead of them asking you questions they allow you to ask them questions.
