yeah i got my in summer after gcse results - if anyone tries to stop you argue your case, even if they try to convince you it wont go up. My school did that and I fully dont regret being a pain in the neck, at worse you'll lose abit of money.

Nice hopefully that will get me the couple or percent ill be off an A* english lang

The marking of CCEA English Literature papers is a complete joke. The examiners have a scant mark scheme with only a few points already listed, after that it's up to them to decide whether what a candidate has written is worthy of credit. Last year my GCSE paper remark went up by 9 marks.

I think the best thing to do is try and get some feedback from your teachers to find out exactly why they marked you down.

I'm sick of subjective essay markers. I have two Psychology teachers, who both externally mark exam papers for Psychology. I did a mock for both teachers and with WJEC Psychology we know exactly what questions appear but they alternate so we don't know what questions actually Case Study will appear.

I answered the same exam papers, with both teachers, except for different case studies and after getting my results back one I scraped a B, and one I got an A*. This isn't the first time, I've copied answers from the WJEC book which was set for homework, which was marked 12/12 by examiners and I've given to the teachers to mark and have gotten as low as 7/12! I feel sorry for whoever the one teacher marks, because they could get much lower than they deserve.

I have four essay subjects. And my University places will be in the balance of subjective markers.

Waiting for results day will be very scary.

TLR - Our A Level and GCSE system needs a complete reformation with essay based subjects.

I would point out that teachers often under-mark to make you push harder..but i'm worried about the summer too, A* is just so difficult to be sure on :/

And example of this farce is that for a speaking and listening task which counted towards gcse my teacher gave me a mark before I had even spoken. Her bias when give the top 2 students good marks for mediocre work to ensure their A*s is far to obvious.

One of my friends got an E in AS English Lit. After a remark, it went up to an A.

Good lord, i think everyone thinks this. There should be a reformation of the examination system. Based more on what you know and how intelligent you are not how you answer the question!
