Sometimes I think about something, and the whatever i am thinking about leads me into another thought - only this time its way deeper and not possible to re-conceive what this is. This happens about three or four times before I snap out of it again.

A good analogy to describe this is calculus.

f(x) is what I am aware of
f '(x) is like the next level up
f ''(x) is not possible to recall at the f(x) / "awake" stage

Does anyone regularly experience something similar?

Everyone thinks about what they're thinking - it's a mark of consciousness. What about it made you think it was weird, maybe I misunderstood?
