I'd love to have a starting salary higher than my parents' salaries, I'd love to be able to finally pay them back for everything.

In the future I'd like to see something between £50k-75k, I think I'll have left banking after that salary range to start my own business if I see the right opportunity for it

I'm going to strive to earn enough to be to be in a position where I have money 'spare'. So enough to pay for the necessities of life e.g. accommodation, food, bills etc; as well as a substantial amount left over for luxury.

for most people it would surley be as much as possible, because, if you dont want the extra, you could just give it away?

I would personally want, a combination of time off, and money. so i would ideally earn enough money to go on holiday a lot - but also, having enough time off so that i could actually do that.

So I take it, the majority of people posting in this thread are 14 year olds? Lol at the people thinking they are all going to earn 60k+, good luck with that.
Iv kind of got used to it. Its TSR after all. Delusional people that have yet to work and enter 'real life' come here saying they want to earn 50k minimum. Would love to see their dissapointed faces in 10 years time.

I love how anyone that says more than about 40k gets negged. Nicely demonstrates our attitude to ambition. Personally my goal is 200k; I'd be totally happy with a lot less, but that would be enough that I'd pretty much never have to worry about how much somethings costs if I want it. Anything over that I'd frankly find difficult to spend without branching out into ridiculous extravagences.
But its not ambition, too many people on TSR are bordering on the delusional, and 200k is beyond delusional.

As I intend on working in Switzerland, the starting salary alone is 70-90,000CHF for the job I want and goes as high as 350,000CHF (plus bonuses)... I'll be fine with the basic salary although Switzerland is very expensive.

That said, I also have a permanent income from the family business that I will take over, however due to tax reasons it will be living expense only as to avoid as much tax as I can

Alot of people seem to be living in a land of dreams with their ambitious salary targets...once you start hitting around the 60k-80k salary mark which is along the lines of directors/senior managers for multinational companies your salary doesn't really go higher. You'll start getting huge bonus payments and other payments like shares within the company you work for instead. Providing targets are met

The average salary in the UK is £24k. You can expect to start on lower unless you get a graduate scheme based in London OR you have a good degree from a decent university. (dependant on the industry you work in and of course exceptions do happen!).

Explain why 200k is beyond delusional? Unlikely, yes. But possible? yes

As to the OP, nothing less than 100k

Its possible and because its possible its ok to dream about earning those amounts of money. But teenagers who sit on TSR and actually expect to earn that much in the future or say "When im 35, I want to be earning 150k" are not only delusional but completely stupid. As long as it stays a dream its fine.

Why? Plenty of top careers offer salaries like that, maybe said teenagers are in medical school or law school or whatever. It still is ambitious, its not like every doctor or lawyer will earn 200k, but its completely within reach, so why on earn would you call it delusional?
