Re: A newest list of target schools for IBlol INVESTMENT BANKING not International Baccalaureate.(Original post by XxelliexX)
Lol 'target schools', makes out the IB is a terrorist bomber or something... -
Re: A newest list of target schools for IBDon't think so. Definitely seeing more representation from universities traditionally deemed as 'non targets'.(Original post by President_Ben)
It's probably the same.
If not narrower just because there are fewer places than there were back then. And of those remaining, more go to people studying on the continent. -
Re: A newest list of target schools for IBReally? Thought most of those there were traditionally fairly target. You've got to remember than course / university is not everything. WE is incredibly important even for SWs.(Original post by Regent)

Re: A newest list of target schools for IBSorry, WE? And yes they are, but there's a misconception on this forum that its top 5 or bust, which discourages people who would probably have a decent shot.(Original post by Blue_Horseshoe)

Re: A newest list of target schools for IBI don't think they'd have a decent shot if thats enough to discourage them(Original post by Regent)

Re: A newest list of target schools for IBWork experience. Not top 5, but no matter what university you attend, you have to have done something a bit different I would say.(Original post by Regent)

Re: A newest list of target schools for IB
Hijacking the thread a little here.
A friend of mine just did a SW at Citi and is at UCL. She told me that in some ways IB is easier to get into from the London unis because you can go to a lot of networking events ahead of interviews, and get to know the HR staff etc.
If this is the case, would LSE/Imp/UCL be better than Oxbridge for getting into IB because of the opportunities to attend more events? -
Re: A newest list of target schools for IBTo an extent, yes, esp LSE.(Original post by HeyyImRyan)

You get those same networking events being held at Oxford and Cambridge as well. Additionally, you have less people attending since not everyone in Oxbridge is dead set on the financial world as would be the case with LSE.
