Rhinoplasty surgery
Hey,
I know the prices may differ from person to person but I've been thinking of getting a nose job but I'm insure of the cost. The websites I've looked at say that a consultation is free but I'm wondering if there is a minimum price I'm looking at?
Not looking for a total overhaul btw I'm just wanting it reshaping a little so that it comes more "to a point". -
Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryI envisaged a response like this but I'm not insecure, lol. My nose is the only part of my looks that I would change.(Original post by xTazx)
It's not going to take away the real issue, i.e. your insecurity. "To a point" may seem attractive to you, but you'll likely not feel comfortable about your nose even then. Until you fix the issues in your head, your appreciation for your body ain't getting better.

Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryFair enough, you know better than I do if it stems from insecurity or a strong base and simply wanting to change it.(Original post by Dark Horse)

I'd definitely think about looking abroad, I don't know much about cosmetic surgery but do know there are a lot of medical tourists leaving the UK to get stuff done. -
Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryWell, I would highly advise against it. I decided to get one and regret it everyday, waste of 5k and I preferred my nose before (had some character), even though I didn't like it then and I went to a BAAPS surgeon who are supposed to be highly recommended. I hadn't realised that the results are very limited depending on your nasal bone and nose structure. I wanted to reduce it a fair amount and bring it closer to my face, but thats not really possible. Anyway, the chances are if you want to alter it slightly, I doubt anyone has even noticed despite you. If you really want to go through with it, go for a BAAPS surgeon(Original post by Dark Horse)

Re: Rhinoplasty surgery
I had a rhinoplasty in 2008 and it influenced my self esteem greatly because my nose really was the one thing that made me feel extremely uncomfortable in public spaces. I know most people are not as shallow as one always fears but fact remains physically attractive people have it easier to approach others in most cases.
I went to a specialised clinic in Poland near the German border and paid around 2600€ for it. Although the surgery was alright and I was given good anaesthesia I would not recommend going abroad simply because of the distance to your surgeon after you're back home. Language barrier problems could also occur and if you don't have relatives who natively speak the same language as the surgeon I would feel bothered by possible missunderstandings.
Bear in mind outcomes of surgeries can be very limited, I know people who insist one must go through two surgeries because the first one will never be satisfying. However, the more surgeries are done to you, the worse your internal structure becomes.
Sorry for derailing

Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryI got a septoplasty due to having my nose broken and tbph it has completely ruined my nose. There was a thread with a few people talking about it a couple of years back and nearly everyone on their had ended up with a worse nose than before. Mine is now more bent, different sized nostrils, blocked right side of my nose, wet dog smell permanently in one nostril and never closing wounds.(Original post by Dark Horse)

Unless your nose is a real problem I really wouldn't bother risking letting someone in there. -
Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryDid you pay for it?(Original post by Mess.)

Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryWas it not possible to wait for an NHS one? I ended up having two surgeries, the original one after it was broken and the corrective surgery when I was 15.(Original post by newts2k)
atleast u didnt pay for a bad rhinoplasty, I broke my nose when I was younger, had to folk out 5k to straighten it and correct deviated septum and it looks worse than it did before
Have you investigated whether yours could be corrected or not? I haven't yet but I think I will as I am sending myself insane constantly touching and itching my nose

Re: Rhinoplasty surgeryNo it wasn't possible as they claimed it was just 'cosmetic', which was partly true but also I couldnt breathe properly. I also had to pay 1k to get laser treatment for keloid scarring on my chest, which developed from acne, even though they signifantly affected my mental well being. The NHS is a ****ing joke, I have heard of many people who get NHS boob jobs and nose jobs, how can you convince me thats any different from my case? Also of people getting gastric bands fitted, simple solution, eat less and exercise more. Its not like I could stop myself getting keloid scarring, completely against my control(Original post by Mess.)

Re: Rhinoplasty surgery
I know a girl who recently got a nose job, it came to 3,500 I think? Around that much anyway. She is sort of happy with the results but she doesnt feel that much of a difference and doesnt think it was worth the money. If I could afford a nose job I would get one in a heart beat though.
Its in no way an amazing solution but its better than nothing, have you ever heard of a noseright? Its basically just a little thing that pinches your nose together, and it does actually work, its nothing dramatic but I noticed a difference, it made the shape of my nose a bit nicer, I have quite a bulbous, bumpy tip that I don't like and it narrowed the bulbous bit down, its kind of bounced back a bit so im going to start using it again. -
Re: Rhinoplasty surgery
I broke my nose a few days ago, went to get it checked out the day after and the dr said to come back on friday once the swelling has gone and go to ENT. The swelling has pretty much gone and I can feel the bridge has moved slightly to the right and there's a lump on the side.
I'd not been able to breath through it properly since and been having the worst headaches but both of these problems are getting better, it's only been a few days since the break anyway.
Is it worth having it fixed or not? I can notice the change in it but it's not like I can't bear to look in the mirror and I've heard having it fixed is very painful.. I'm just undecided? -

Re: Rhinoplasty surgery
I have a big bump on my nose so my mom is now allowing my to get rhinoplasty (I'm a bit nervous because this will be my first surgary). I was wonder, can they reconstruct my whole nose? I hate my nose anyways and I want it to be smaller (no only just to take the bump out), would it be alright if I show them a picture of how I want my nose? Would that work? I'm just greatfull that I can get that bump out, but it was just a thought. Kinda like a haircut, you just show them a picture and they remake it on your head, would that work here?
