Has anyone currently at BPP been given any indication what the essay will be for tort? I haven't seen the revision lecture yet and tutors didn't give indications in class.

    Also same question for equity.
Not sure about the tort essay (praying it's not one of my topics). However, it's been indicated that implied trusts of the home is likely to come up as an essay for equity.

I totally broke the golden rule of 'issue by issue' as well by the way!

Yeah I think implied trusts of the home will probably be the essay for equity from what I have heard but obviously there is no guarantee.

I am wondering if the topics I have revised are enough because if I'm wrong about implied trusts and one of my topics comes up as the essay it will be a bit of a nightmare, as I will have no other choice but to do it. However, I am thinking it might be better to just get a few articles and remember some good quotes from judgments as bits to stick in an essay Q just in case rather than try to revise a whole extra topic which I probably won't need...

    I have done these:

    1. Three certainties, formalities and constitution
    2. equitable remedies
    3. secret trusts, private purpose trusts and unincorporated associations

Sounds okay I think? Anyone doing similar?
I though secret trusts was usually a stand alone topic?!

I thought it often came up together with those other ones I mentioned. I'm sure I have seen past papers with that combo and it is a bit of a short topic on its own. Not sure if it can be a stand alone, maybe it can but I think there is a definite chance of it being combined.
Doing same question set for equity as you hmaus. Looking through past papers, purpose, secret and unincorporated either all appear together or sometimes just two of them. Agree that it would be a bit scant if a question only covered one!

In the past papers it has never come up as a stand alone topic. It's always with private purpose trusts. About half the time it's also got unincorporated associations in it.

Ah God, I really don't know where I got that from then. Oh well at least I've found out now and not the night before!

    How did you find tort?

It went better than contract. I was satisfied with my answers, but they weren't great. But then I'm not that academic really so if I get a reasonable Pass somewhere in the 50s I will be happy. Other people might want more obviously.

But I thought timing was okay, and I didn't forget any cases, so went well in that respect.

That sounds positive I was definitely calmer today than Monday!

I'm revising separation of powers for Con & Ad now - really hope it comes up.

I think they've basically said it will be coming up.

Oh really? Have they indicated anything for HR/JR? Do you think it'll probably just follow what's in the revision lectures e.g. Article 5/6 and Illegality/Procedural Impropriety...

I'm going for parliamentary sovereignty, article 5/6 and illegality ... last full day of revision, thank god - horray for being a part timer!

Parliamentary sovereignty doesn't come up in any of this year's revision lectures...the three essay questions (i.e. the three that will come up) covered are general constitution, separation of powers and responsible government.

Seriously? Thanks for the heads up. I've been cramming for the others the last few days but I honestly thought there was a discussion of Jackson in one of the revision lectures, which may have been what threw me - thanks for the pointer!!!

Are you only revising those topics or by 'going for' do you mean you're guessing that's what will come up?

P.S I am so jealous of you being a part-timer right now!

Hey, sorry for late reply... have spent the day cramming!

But yeah, I've just done SoP (I'd done notes for it as well as Parliamentary Sovereignty, but Commerce is right, it just doesn't look like it'll come up so there was no point me disproportionately studying PS), Art. 5/6 for HR and Illegality for JR. I've covered Art.2/3 with my HR revision just in case, but I can't imagine that those three won't come up.

brilliant yeah that's what I've covered

Love the way you slipped 'disproportionately' in there....

Oh God, I'm starting to make jokes about the course- a drink is definitely needed tomorrow.

    Good luck !!

I didn't even realise I'd used disproportionately. My face was just like this: :nooo:... oh dear. Time for bed, methinks. Good luck to you too!!

Are we looking forward to Land, guys?

Freehold covenants, mortgages, and Co-ownership here. Brief back-up in the form of easements.

These definitely seem to be the most popular topics. Mine are basically the same but with easements as one of the main 3 and freehold cov as the intended back up (which I haven't actually revised yet)

I've been going over co-ownership today and am pretty happy with it I think.

Wondering how to best tab up my statute book for land as I seem to have post its all over it...

Hope exams this week have been going well for all the full timers
I'm using different colour tabs for each of the 3 or 4 topics. I also find having them coming out at different parts of the book can be useful. So all the ones for FCs stick out the bottom of the book, co-ownership out the side, and mortgages would be out the top but there doesn't seem to be much statute for mortgages (one of the main reasons I chose it...)

I'm doing easements, freehold covenants and running of leasehold covenants.

The exams last week were an experience that's for sure. Trying to keep up the energy for the last three!
