Re: If you had £1000 and were 16 what would you buy?I agree that this is wise, but my brother did this. He can now just get loans which he can pay back quite easily when he's earning, which resulted in him not enjoying his child hood as much as he saved and didnt spend money.(Original post by joey11223)
I'd save it for uni tbh.
Give me a grand now though.. I'd use about £400 for a holiday, £600 towards a new gaming rig. -

Spend a tenner on a whore. The rest I'd save for hopefully lots of travelling in my gap year.

Re: If you had £1000 and were 16 what would you buy?Uni fees shouldn't be a problem. You only have to pay it back if you're earning over a certain amount and even then its a percentage. After a certain time period the debt gets scrapped, so you shouldn't have to part with much apart from food etc...

Re: If you had £1000 and were 16 what would you buy?Suppose it depends on personal preference. In my year out I worked full time and managed to save enough to pay for the first two years of uni. Because I've saved most of the money from bursaries/maintanence grants, I'll be able to pay off the 3rd years fees as well. I have a little under £3k in a savings account...blowing it on a new rig and other stuff is quite tempting right now though...(Original post by multiplexing-gamer)

Re: If you had £1000 and were 16 what would you buy?Seriously, save it for uni. Not for fees for undergrad, but for expenses like deposits etc.(Original post by multiplexing-gamer)

Or a starting point for tuition if you want to do a masters. -
