There were a few places i may have lost marks but on the whole I think this exam went pretty well

I did Forensic: Stages in decision making (Hastie et al) and Top-down typology (Canter et al).
Then for Health: Self-report to measure stress (Holmes & Rahe) and Definitions of dysfunctional behaviour (4 definitions).

Hopefully grade boundaries are low too which will help everyone

In Jan 2011 they changed the time from 1 hour 30 to 2 hours (I have no idea how they expected people to answer that much in 90 minutes), so I would imagine that that explain part of the jump. Nevertheless, the boundaries around the average of 80%. They won't increase above 72 (80%), if that makes you feel better

I think the 10 markers for this exam were nice but the 15 markers were pretty harsh compared to the ones I have practised, I did:

    Top Down
    Probation
    HBM
    Measuring Stress

A lot of people at my college seemed to get confused with the stress question but i didnt think that was too bad really. Was so happy the HBM came up but have never linked it to free will. I just talked about how the HBM, Self Efficacy and Locus of control are free will or deterministic.

Need 65 UMS in this exam to get an A over all, does anybody know what grade this is?

I used Ressler et al for the ten mark profiling question because it asked about how the top down typology creates a profile whereas Canter is more about evaluation. I found it easier to talk about Ressler because you can easily link in how his interviews led to organised and disorganised, then mention Douglas' mixed offender addition to the dichotomy.

Is this for G543 or G544? 'Cause for G543 I thought an A would be 80/100 on most/all papers

Wait a minute, I was thinking about my history paper which is only 90 marks. Theses boundaries are still under the average 80% for an A standard.

This is EXACTLY what I did, glad someone else has done the same. Got slightly worried for a hot sec when people kept saying they mentioned Canter et al :/

i've ****ed up the health belief 15 marker...i didn't read it properly and don't think i evaluated self efficacy and locus of control.....major loss of marks despite evaluating whether hbm is free will vs determinism
    **** **** ****
How many marks do you think I'll loose?

thought my exam went okay, until I just read that the first forensic question (social cognition) wanted Gudjonsson and Bownes, but I described Yochelson and Samenow... will I just get 0 marks for this?

That depends how you used it. If you talked about how the criminal thinking patterns affect them in social situations and that can cause crime (e.g. Perceiving requests as impositions or they're habitually angry) then you will still get marks. It's more about how you linked the study to the question than the study itself. So in short, using Yochelson and Samenow doesn't necessarily mean you will immediately get no marks .

Let's hope it works out for us, my teacher said it was good that I used it

I did include they were habitually angry, seek excitement and lacked empathy, but I'm unsure whether I literally stated these affect social situations. No point worrying about it now because I can't change it - just disappointed I didn't realise! Thanks.

Haha so did mine To be honest I think that we should be fine, as long as we mentioned key points and ideas related to the top down approach, it should be all good. Focusing really on G544 now!!
