    Maths at Edinburgh or Nottingham
So.. the UCAS deadline is coming up.. and somehow I'm still undecided of where to firm. My options are either Nottingham or Edinburgh.
Can someone weigh up some pro's and con's about both - baring in mind I live 2 hours from Nottingham and 7 from Edinburgh...

hi i think i might be able to help you, as i actually study maths at nottingham, and my (ex) gf left to go to edinburgh so i went there a few times.... first thing to say is that it is a long way away from the centre of england and the distance isn't to be underestimated. she didn't like it as she felt completely cut off from all her old friends from school and she did make friends on the course but edinburgh is vastly multicultural attracting a lot of europeans so sometimes she found life a bit hard. i dont have all great things to say about my tutors at nottingham, as they aren't all great, but my girlfriend used to complain a lot to me about feeling cut off from the tutors as they just spoke at you in lectures and were rarely available, although she doesn't study maths so i'm not sure how the experience translates.
Maths at Nottingham is amazing however, and most people on the course are friendly and welcoming and it is very enjoyable being here!
hope this helps as i have a little experience of both universities, and any questions on maths/maths at nottingham please ask
