Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)Chances are they'll be able to more than afford their own bus pass with the Citizens income.(Original post by RoryS)
I do not agree with the scrapping of administering free bus passes, it's a no. -
Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)So it's better to give someone a product than to give someone the money which they can choose to spend in a way which is better for them?(Original post by RoryS)

Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)I never had a problem with it in the first place, but to make you happy.(Original post by Keckers)
So does anyone have any issues with this bill?
Or is the house going to wait until this goes to vote to start voicing their opinions on it?
Aye -
Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)It was more aimed at the Labour party who'll no doubt turn up at the vote with a criticism and then vote it down.(Original post by toronto353)

Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)Then with all due respect, please state that and don't tar all MPs with the same brush.(Original post by Keckers)

Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)I don't think it was aimed at specific individuals, but given the reent Tax Motion & Tax Interest Parity Act, then you can't argue with our wondering if anyone has anything more to say before we send it to vote, not after. We do try to be accommodating to the House.(Original post by toronto353)

Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)I agree with your reasoning, but still it's not nice to tar everyone with the same brush.(Original post by jesusandtequila)

Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)I don't think pensioners want money - they just need something they can always have in their pocket to get around.(Original post by jesusandtequila)

I do believe extra money as well as the freedom pass would help due to pension cuts etc etc. -
Re: B438 - Welfare Bill 2012 (Second Reading)The argument here is whether the state should buy a citizen a "freedom pass" for £30 or give them the £30 to do with what they want. What part of the latter do you find so wrong?(Original post by RoryS)
