Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itFind some Vikings and we'll test your hypothesis.(Original post by Sheep)
imagine sitting around the table with some vikings and you're like "I got beat up 5 years ago, I still cry myself to sleep" they'd laugh their asses off lol -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itoutnumbered or not, never go down without a fight(Original post by Dragonfly07)
Happens to everyone, and most people wouldn't attempt to fight back when it's their first time or if they're grossly outnumbered. -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying it
Your mind lets it drop eventually it just takes time. I had a knife to my neck by gang of 3 and I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks after but now times passed i've almost forgotten about it to some extent.
I reported them to the police but although one guy got a tag on his leg and was pretty annoyed about this, a lack of evidence meant the case was dropped... -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itThe system is a mess. I know a guy who stabbed someone in a fight and he got 6 years, but that person was discharged only one day later and never died. These guys killed someone in an armed robbery and got 6 years.(Original post by Aeonstorm)
That is pretty ridiculous... only 6 years
Two people who posted a Facebook post advocating rioting got 4 years.. 2 years less than a killer. That just shows the state of the legal system. -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itThey got a maximum of 4 years, will probably be let out in 1 or 2. Those guys got a minimum of 6. They will probably serve more than that, however minimum sentences should be much higher than they are currently.(Original post by xXxiKillxXx)

and just because you suffer, somebody else has to? -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying it
it also annoys me when people are always yelling for massive prison sentences
i dont think giant prison terms will be any more of a deterrent to dumb teenage kids
you dont think after spending a whole 5 years in prison these ppl will think twice about committing such silly crimes ?
just try and imagine what spending 5 years of your life in prison would be like lol -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itSome don't care, and will be happy to have a life of crime.(Original post by Sheep)

Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itI disagree. That's just some proud bull****. If you know there's no way you can win you may as well not try because you'll get yourself into worse trouble.(Original post by DDS)
outnumbered or not, never go down without a fight -
Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itblockbuster near pizzahut sainsburys and burgerking???(Original post by Billton)
I only knew one of them, the rest kept their hoods up.
Then in A&E another guy was there that I recognised with a broken arm. So my Dad came down and scared him into giving us names. I gave a statement, aswel as my friend. My brother got beat up pretty bad
so he couldn't remember much.
They all got away with it though. There was CCTV at the hospital, and they took my jumper off me which was covered in blood.
I work in Blockbuster, and I served one of them not long ago. I didn't recognise him, but when his account flashed up I recognised the name. Still the same thug from 5 years ago -

Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying it
Sorry to hear that bro =/ You can't stop replaying it because it was a shock to your system and it's one of those things which doesn't usually happen everyday. One thing you should question though is why your 'friends' didn't do anything to help you. There were three of you and two of them.
Also, you're not made of glass
Wounds heal, you could have broken ribs, a broken jaw, etc etc the list is endless, but they will heal eventually and the situation you got yourself into probably won't happen again. It's one of those downers in the day which you just don't want or need, all you can do now is think about what you will do next time should you find yourself in that situation again and/or bump into the same dude.

Re: Just got assaulted and can't stop replaying itSometimes it can be hard dealing with something like this. Just tell yourself that the odds of it happening again are very low, and that you're better prepared for it this time. It caught you off guard because you weren't expecting it, now it'll probably never happen again but if it ever does your instincts should kick in.(Original post by KnapAttackUK)
Basically, yesterday when I was walking home from school with 2 friends, someone stopped us and demanded a password. We ignored him and kept walking. Next thing I know, I've been spun around and punched in the face enough to draw a lot of blood. Neither of my friends helped, and there was two off them, so I ran off :/
Now I can't stop freaking out about "what ifs", like if they knocked me down or if I'd hit them back. The worst thing is I walk past that road every day, and they'll recognise me.
What do I do, or what should I have done?
It's a natural thing when you've been in a position like that to see it with hindsight. I know when its happened to me I kinda replay it over and over in my head with different outcomes each time but that doesn't really get us anywhere. People react to confrontation in different ways, maybe you just naturally avoid danger by running off (sometimes the smartest option) whereas I tend to have an automatic reaction to hit them back hard.
Try not to blame your friends even if you find yourself starting to think that way. Yes, mates should always back each other up but it's possible if they're not used to having these kinda things happen that they just froze up and didn't know how to react. If anything they probably feel horrible about it as well.
We've all been there, just stay positive. Any time someone gets hit in the face or even knocked out it may hurt for a while, but after its cleared up you start to realise that you're OK. They tried to hurt you and you're still here and nothing overly bad happened long-term, once you start thinking like that its easier to relax and take things as they come.
so he couldn't remember much.
