Anyone care about Gunter Grass?
Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
In the run-up to the local elections, Socialist candidate in the town hall area where I live is handing out leaflets to the public concerning Gunter Grass fiasco in Germany.
What the ****? This is St Helens! People here want to know whether they'll get a rebate on their council tax, or whether the waste disposal site will be closed down or not. They don't give a damn about some German poet in Leipzig.
I was given this leaflet: "Germany's ISSE, SEP denounce attacks on meetings in defence of Gunter Grass"
There is no intellectual milieu in St Helens; most people here work in supermarkets and corner shops, for goodness sake. Does he think he'll somehow get votes by handing out leaflets...leaflets that people will just glance at the first few words and then throw it in the bin, before they go shop for toilet rolls and pay their tv licence on-time?Last edited by Martyn*; 03-05-2012 at 11:32. -

B) Positive and differentiated takes will be put up at the same site in about a week; and
C) On the poetry of lack thereof of the Beast, which I will put in about two weeks up at my
