Anyone know how long citalopram takes to get out your system? Been taking it for 3 weeks and stopped yesterday when the doc told me to. Still feeling like an empty shell...
About a week or so. What dose were you on? You quite possibly should've slowly decreased dose rather than stopping, citalopram discontinuation can be unpleasant.

Edit: Nevermind, saw that your doctor told you to stop taking it so I assume you're on a low dose (or he could be an idiot if you're on a higher dose and he told you to stop cold turkey.

Yeah was only on 20mg and that ****ed me up so had an emergency gp appointment yesterday and he told me to stop the citalopram and prescribed me diazepam for the weekend until I can see my usual gp on Monday.

Yeah I know how to multi and do it sometimes but quite often I will quote someone and post it and then see someone else I want to quote after it is posted and I don't know how to edit to make it a multi quote once it's posted, apologies, I will refrain from it in the future.

If you want to edit the new quotes in - multi-quote all the extra ones then copy the text for the quotes and edit your post to tag them on at the end.

Ahh it's okay! When that happens you could just reply to the quote from the 'someone else you want to quote' and then copy the whole thing, edit your previous post, and paste it there

I suppose you can say things on skype that are not allowed on here when you are feeling at your worst, might be nice to have that support sometimes and I know a lot of you are also awake late at night because we all have sleep issues ha! :wizard:

:console: you taken anything for your cold?

you have anything that cheers you up that you can do? having a cold probably is bringing you down a bit anyway so hopefully it will get better and as it does you will feel stronger too
Yeh just some nasal drops. It's not the cold that bothers me (it's only a cold! :P) it's the fact I just felt really down because it's stopping me from going out tonight.

I mean I could go out and sit sniffling with a tissue in the 25c heat and pass it on to 100s of people potentially. I care too much and don't want to pass it on, lol.

Then I wanted to book myself a week away by myself but having to spend funds on replacing things and buying health products which I didn't expect I needed at this time, so it's slightly annoying to see my "saved" funds drop every couple of days due to needed purchases.

But yes, the camping trip is indeed happening for me so least ill have that :P

Haven't posted in a while (or at least it feels like) so just checking in to confirm I am still alive, and actually doing really well. So that's nice. Hoping for at least a stable summer before the apparently inevitable winter crumble. :sogood:
    Good to hear

It was one of the DLOs. Is it any wonder that I went into academic hiding when they make me feel like a stupid child when I do see them?

There were some positives (Carole was there ) so I'm having a new super pushy mentor. Just wish I could have a computer science mentor instead of a generic one but they apparently don't have any. It's too easy to fool a regular mentor that I'm working on something when an actual CS mentor would recognise that I was being an arse and avoiding things. And there were other things but I can't remember what they were. My head is so full and I'm really struggling to learn prolog
Hmm, from the CS school I have found that Hannah Robinson is one of the best people to talk to about mental health stuff, and Dipa has always been helpful whenever I talked to her. :hugs:

No emotions, eh? Like psychopathy or drugged up on antidepressants or what?
I think she has just ignored the drugs, as she seemed to not believe the fact that I haven't properly cried since being on my latest drug was due to said drug; so psychopathy it seems.

The diazepam has stopped working and the harmful thoughts are coming back now. Doctor told me to get in touch with the crisis team if the diazepam failed, just wondering what happens when the crisis team gets involved? What are your experiences of crisis teams?

Going to take some more diazepam now and hope it helps, just worried about over-taking it or running out when I need it.

Just ordered a mexican takeaway on impulse and spent over £11 which I really can't afford and now I feel **** for ordering it, want to sleep to escape but can't because I have to now wait up for this takeaway that I regret buying. I am such a waster.

When I get a cold I make it my duty to pass it on to as many people as possible. I mean some **** passed it on to me so it's the least I can do.

    Or maybe I'm a **** too. :dontknow:

    How odd.

I'm not an expert on psychopaths (although I've listened to half of the psychopath test so I do have some idea) but I certainly wouldn't say you come across as a psychopath you'll be glad to hear.

The crisis team will probably try to offer you distractions from your thoughts, stuff like make a cup of tea, have a bath, go for a walk, go to sleep etc which, tbh I never found all that helpful but maybe some people do find it helpful. If you're in a really bad way they might come round to talk to you which can be helpful.

Aw probably not helpful here but Mexican food is amazing  I guess what's done is done now and tbh you sound in a pretty bad way - it's always good to treat yourself when you're at your lowest so don't feel guilty about it. :hugs:

Yes...I think it does. ****ing nearly 3 week long cold last time!

Well, I don't think we're allowed to state that doctors are silly anymore, but I would say it's certainly not unheard of for a drug to have that effect on someone.

Haha, maybe it is cocking up some nice summer flu for when we come down next ^_^

Ah, yes - this is correct. However, it is a big coincidence that that part came on when I started my last med. Also, it was discounted that I felt sad; and at another point of the appointment then I was told how I reacted to things was normal - so there is a plus right there!

It better not be, that'll ruin my summer. Btw, you guys should come down sometime when it's hot, we can have a bbq in the park! :awesome:

Your psychiatrist seems a bit contradictory. :beard:
