Option to live in quiet flat? Also single gender or mixed gender?
Would you like to live with other students who have requested a quiet flat?

Didn't know whether to put yes or no for this, in a way yes so I can concentrate but then no because if I do go out and get loud then I'm sure everyone will be ratty about it and quiet might be really boring, I like some noise at least

Also, single or mixed gender flat?

I'm worried about if its single gender girls might be really bitchy, but then I wouldn't feel so self conscious because everyone's a girl but then I also tend to get better on with guys (friend wise) and then... they are guys ^_^

Well I'd go for mixed personally and as I don't actually go out at all (only to work) a quiet option would have been my preference. Not that I had a problem seems as I only lived with 4 others in my first year accommodation.

    same!!!!
    I have no idea?!
I'm quite quiet and will get pissed off if people are really noisy at 3am, but then I don't want to have to tiptoe / live with social rejects who never leave their room and I won't meet...
I have this idea if its a quiet flat it won't get as messy? haha
but i don't want to be bored...
but i want to sleep :L
is this for exter? I think they have sound proofed rooms, so it must have to be really noisy, not to be able to sleep...
but then people might knock on the door etc if drunk, for a laugh.....
    arghhhhh
I'm being so anal about this, I should just go to a quiet flat... hahaha

I'd be very very surprised if someone made a complaint that you made a couple of noises getting in. They should know it is unintentional. For example these days if I'm working and get in, occasionally just by opening and shutting the front door might stir them. They've never complained about it, it was just mentioned in passing. They know I have no intention of waking them up at a stupid time in the morning so don't mind.

And if someone complained to a higher authority that you occassionally made a noise or two coming in then that really is just pathetic.

A mixed quiet flat. I was in a loud flat in my first term, it was terrible. Kicking bins and doors at 4am, screaming like morons... *shudders*

haha I'm thinking exactly the same thing though! I want people I can actually have conversations with/have jokes with and not be a total grump if I decide to make a bit of noise like if I decide I want something to eat in the night lol
and mine's for falmouth, i don't know if exeter shares one of the accomodation places?

To be honest, I'd go for a normal flat. In a quiet flat, it's quite likely that you'll get people who want silence 24/7, will complain if you come in rat-arsed, and never go out. I've never found noise to be a significant problem in halls, although I am someone who can sleep through almost anything!

Definitely also go mixed gender. After 7 years in an all girls school, there was no way I was going for an all girls environment again, and indeed I do tend to get on better with the boys in my flat than the girls.

I wouldn't want a quiet flat as I'd be worried it would be full of the sort of people who shut themselves in their rooms and never go out, and mixed is a good balance.

I don't think there's a happy medium. People who tick quiet will more likely be the shy, study all the time sorts. Every other flat you've got a good chance of someone who is noisy in the inconsiderate sense. I guess it depends what extreme you are more comfortable, risk getting that one.

you seems to have already decided on mixed gender

Heh, I'm shy and I decided to not pick the quiet option XD It would be horrific having other people in the flat just like me XD Nah, I was also wondering if the quiet option was the filter for "not coming in screaming at 3am" or something. I wasn't sure how quiet people would be who picked that option, and although I'm shy, I don't want to keep myself locked up in my room and have silence 24/7...

Exactly! I also didn't pick the quiet option in the end - I suppose there's always earplugs if things get out of hand :') I also ended up picking the mixed gender option
