Re: What are your opinions on ear stretchers?
They were pretty cool when the 'trend' started, not many people had them and if you did it was kinda unique. Now it's the total opposite, everyone seems to have them and everyone seems to think they're unique

It's on my list of things to purge from the earth, along with anchor tattoos, dream catchers and awfully dyed hair. -
Re: What are your opinions on ear stretchers?
I have 11mm stretched ears and most people don't even notice. They just think I'm wearing larger earrings - unless I'm wearing tunnels. If I'm wearing no plugs at all, I don't have huge gaping holes.
My second holes are stretched to 3mm which are barely noticeable. I also have a 5mm hole in my cartilage that was done with a dermal punch.
I know some people think they look disgusting, but we can't all like the same things, can we?Last edited by F Ellen; 07-05-2012 at 21:20. -
Re: What are your opinions on ear stretchers?
For those who think you have to have them the rest of your life, not necessarily. Like any piercing, it'll shrink back in and close over so long as you don't go past a certain size. Even then it depends on your own ears where your cut-off point is. Some skin heals quicker than others.
Obviously the massive ones the size of teacups are ridiculous looking, but both my ears are at 12mm and barely anyone even notices them because my hair is always down. I doubt i'll go any bigger than 12mm though, it's big enough for me. I like them so long as it's done right and it doesn't blow out because that can be dodgy. -
Re: What are your opinions on ear stretchers?
I started stretching mine at 13 and have had them at 6mm for a couple of years now (I originally stretched them to that size and put glowstick bracelets in them for parties... Oh god why
). They don't really shrink for a couple of days if I leave the tunnels out, but really, at that size it's not like they're going to look horrific to keep them into my old age anyway.
Apart from the ear cheese on those who choose not to clean their piercings I really don't see what's so disgusting about it.
My mum also has 7mm ones... obviously to be 1mm cooler than me. -

Re: What are your opinions on ear stretchers?
I don't mind them as long as they aren't ridiculously stretched. A friend has hers at 11mm and it suits her style and you don't really notice it, so it's fine. But there was a guy I saw and I swear, the stretch must have been over an inch and a half - you could literally see through his ear, he was using the 'tube-like' ones. That looked ridiculous and horrible and...yeah.

It honestly made me want to throw up, lol.
then I wouldn't have a problem with over stretched ears afterwards.
