    Manchester or Nottingham! HELP!!
Both of the courses are exactly the same and they both want me to get AAA.
I already have an A* in Spanish and they are specifically asking me to get an A in art and either an A in English lit or History. I am CONVINCED I will get A*ABB and I just called Manchester and they said that because of the fees going up to 9000 they might be lowering the grade boundary (the first time I called up they said it was unlikely). Nottingham said that if I did not get AAA then it would be highly unlikely also.
Have you ever been accepted on a grade lower? Especially since English lit and History hasn't really got anything to do with Architecture.

Manchester also wanted me to give in a portfolio whereas Nottingham didn't...would this be taken into consideration if I didn't meet the grades?

Also I heard that Manchester and Nottingham are like 93% white. Thought this was kind of deceiving since they both claim to have loads of international students.

But yeah what do you think? and those who go to the universities is the student life as amazing as they say?

Thank you so much guys!!! Helps a lot since I've been torn between the two for months now

University of Kent (Canterbury) is my insurance.

Just wanted to say I was stuck between Manchester and Nottingham too, finally went for Nottingham mostly to stop myself going mad trying to decide :P

As for student life Manchester has loads more students living there and if you're into live music Manchester is awesome, one thing about Nottingham that interested me was the project in South Africa they do most years, i know this isn't really something to make a decision on but in the end you have to decide somehow!

    Whichever one you choose enjoy

I do not go to Manchester University but my dad does a lot of work there, my cousin goes there and I've lived in the area nearly all my life. Manchester as a city is brilliant, really good atmosphere, great shopping, plenty of things to do, all the things you'd expect from a big city.

However, the student satisfaction rate is pretty low because students rarely see their tutors/lecturers etc and because student fees are going up, more and more students will expect 'value for money', as it were. There are a lot of international students (I don't know where that statistic is from), the same as any big city university but international students (not all but from experience and what others have said) have a tendency to stick together.

I personally love Manchester, I didn't have the grades to go to the university and at the time of applying, I wanted to get away! Hope you are happy with whatever decision you make

Thanks guys! I actually applied for Manchester because I just think that the lifestyle might suit me a little better. I've heard that it's not entirely like London (which is good as I want to get away from london) as there is a huge student feel to it.
    Hope I don't regret it!
