    It's not a gas though?
HCl was correct, because when burned it is a gas. Because my teacher said they used to use a certain plastic in sofas but stopped using it because when burned it gave off HCl; and the people ended up dying from inhaling HCl rather than inhaling smoke or burning.

Also, for the multiple choice one on how to separate the two metals I put

Precipitation, on the basis that you had to use your data book to get the answer, and since one was insoluble and the other was very soluble.

Then I put filtration or something :/

You know for the multiple choice one, the one that asked which one was a base, I picked the one ending with hydroxide.

Any one know if that is correct?

Same. Should be, a base is an alkali, so it would contain OH

    The ones i remember are:

Which fraction is used as plane fuel
which fraction has the longest chain of molecules
    Which substance is the base
Which 2 substances would form a precipitation
Which element produces a lilac flame
Which element burns with a pop.

Thanks, was there a question in the credit which asked you to compare different experiments and also in the credit which asked you about ferrroxyl indicator?

I always thought credit pass was 50% but looking at the last 3 years it been 16/30,17/30,17/30.

Anyone suspect what it will be this year?

Given that 9/10 people found it hard this year, I doubt that the pass mark will be over 50%.

Ignore me... I had this mixed up with the physics thread.

I thought it was fair this year as well.

    Sorry about that... :getmecoat:

    LOL.
I too found the physics exam quite hard but I'm sure that didn't fail. (probably, hopefully.... maybe?)

Hey see the question about drawing the line to ph 7 what if you just drew a diagonal line to 7 instead of it going to 7 and then straight? Anyone know?

That was the answer. You don't go from 7 onwards as the pH would stop at 7!

Sorry I didn't really explain very well. I know ph7 is correct but would you have to physically show it stayed at ph7 by drawing a straight line at ph7 or would it not really matter as long as you stopped a diagonal line at ph7

Actually that's just a stupid question it won't make any difference whatsoever :shot:

What are the answers for the type of reactions? I put Hydrolysis, Neutralisation and Displacement. Not neccessarly in that order. But I think they're wrong
