What are policies for getting fired
For those in work or new trainees can the company fire u or let u go if you are unable to cope with the work or are unable to get to grips with the work that is undertaken

can they let u go if can be able to carry out the work or unable to get to grips with how the company system works or how they use their systems

if you find that u are struggling and unable to cope with the work could they fire u or let u go

Either way, get used to it because you're going to hear it a lot.

I'd imagine so if it was ongoing and training wasn't helping. I might be wrong.

They can fire you or let you go for all those reasons. That's the point of a probationary period, to give either side, the employer and the employee the chance to leave the job easily and quickly if either feel that a big mistake has been made, ie you hate the job or they think you will never be able to do it with the training available.

If you are having problems, then you need to say so to your line manager. However training costs employers money - money on the training and lost money in not having staff working at full capacity. So unlike school where you can sit retakes as often as you like for as long as you like, you don't get second chances very often in the work environment, it costs too much for the company.

If that actually happened, and you were "getting there" slowly but not necessarily grasping everything to their expectations, their may extend your probationary period if your on one instead of just firing you. Not just for the sake of it, but to put something in place so that they can be sure they've done all they can to help you get to grips with things. But as the above poster says, this is also a period in which you can decide enough's enough, it's not for you, and leave relatively easily.
