Can't drink alcohol
Ok, I started drinking a lot later than most people, I was teetotal until I turned 20 and for a while, I only used to drink Jagermeister. And although I could only manage a couple, I'd feel completely fine when I did drink. Was never sick, wouldn't get a hangover.
Stopped for a little while, then got into my third year of uni and started drinking again. Started drinking other stuff but I still rarely mix my drinks and I always try and pace myself. But now, I end up throwing up really easily (even if I just drink jager, which I used to be fine with) and if I don't, I find it really hard to get to sleep that night because my stomach just feels horrible.
I keep thinking that maybe I'm drinking too much and just don't know my limits but there's been a few times where I've thrown up without even being drunk.
Does this sound like a limits thing or should I accept that I just can't handle alcohol? -
Re: Can't drink alcoholIt's a well known fact that many chinese people cannot metabolise alcohol anything like as well as europeans, hence getting drunk from a lot less.(Original post by Bey Taco)
I fail to see the relevance -

Re: Can't drink alcoholYou not knowing about something does not mean it's not a well known fact. Lots of people of asian descent have a mutation which means that one of the enzymes required to break down acetaldehyde (a by product of ethanol metabolism) is not present in significant quantities, and so acetaldehyde builts up after alcohol consumption. Acetaldehyde is poisonous and one of the ways the body tries to get rid of it can be vomiting.(Original post by moya)
'well known fact' lol
Thank you, come again. -
Re: Can't drink alcoholMy best advice is not to drink like myself, as all it is, is toxins which damages your body- what benefiets do you get from it- use a subsitute and have different drink.(Original post by oldham_fran)

It is actually a well known fact :PI admit I'm wrong on this one(Original post by Dynasty)
You not knowing about something does not mean it's not a well known fact. But still, it's unlikely that this is the OPs problem. -
Re: Can't drink alcoholDude's right. I'm Chinese and got told that(Original post by Dynasty)

I admit I'm wrong on this one

Re: Can't drink alcoholhave eating habits changed? the amount of food in your stomach can alter how much the alcohol affects you...(Original post by oldham_fran)
