Yeah, I got my first choice. What's your major?
Ah I'm doing the Legal Practice Course for solicitor training. Only there for the year but I have a lot of work to do and I'm looking forward to settling in and making the most of my time there.

I haven't started to apply yet. I'm still waiting for CAS. My flight in on 14th Sep if nothing goes wrong. How about you? How everything's going?
Huh, that's weird, why does your CAS take so long? I received mine weeks ago. I will apply for Visa at the end of this month because I have to wait for my bank account to reach 28 days. I haven't booked a ticket yet, still doing some research, which airline carrier are you going to fly?

If all goes well and my funding comes through for my course I'll be properly ready to go. Yeah living in a new country can be a daunting experience especially being far away from home. But you'll settle in if you meet the right people and enjoy your time in Oxford.

Only two months or so and we'll be there!

I have no idea, really. I did everything they asked for but still, no response. I'll be applying for VISA by the beginning of August, too. Well, I used skyscanner to find the cheapest ticket avail. and I booked Emirates. (around $760)

Can somebody tell me if I have selected Oxford Brookes as my insurance choice whether I have to apply for accommodation?

I haven't received any letters or emails informing me to do so but I need to be sure. Because if I do end up going there then surely they need to know what accommodation I want to live in?

That's odd they usually guarantee first year students accommodation in halls?

They can guarantee first year firm students accomodation in halls. Insurance choices do not get that guarantee as you are last on the list to get. This is similar at alot of unis. I know someone who got into there insurance and didnt get halls. They have now added slade and dorset house to brookes accom though so the chances are you will get something.

Whoa thats a pretty long flight from there to here. You'll have to come a little earlier to recuperate from the jet lag not to mention the time difference!

Oh, that's a pretty nice price. I think I am going for Vietnam Airlines student fare . VNA has a direct flight to London, I had got airsick before so I am really afraid of the jet lag. Hahaha, hope I will survive this long flight

I'm not sure about VNA. I heard many bad things about it and. I asked many Vietnamese students who experienced VNA b4 and they all said that VNA direct flight still lands least one place for refueling (or to pick up some more customers). You can check it on SVUK forum.

So how much does a ticket cost?

    Hi everybody,

If everything goes as expected, I'll be studying a postgraduate course within the Wheatley Campus next fall.

I'm browsing through student halls right now, and my first option is Slade Park.

Does anyone know what their guest policy is?

I've seen that in other halls (like Cheney) you can have a guest for a maximum of 3 nights for every 7-day period.

However, within the Slade Park site, I can't find anything like this. :-(

    Does anyone know? Thanx!

Hahaha ah British food can be quite bland some of it, of course making a dish yourself can make it more interesting.

16 hours? Is it a direct flight? Once you get to whichever airport your flying to, its easy to get a train from there to London and from there to Oxford unless you land in Gatwick then its the London Underground to one of the overground stations to Oxford and you're there.
