-Bullying Facebook pages etc...

That one's down to Facebook, and good luck with that considering the paedophilia rampant on the site.
So: the pro-ban links are all Daily Mail articles and the anti-ban links...well, arn't.

Sums it up, really

Perhaps competent parenting and monitoring your child's Internet use would be a better thing to do.

I think forcing parents to pull their fingers out and get a little education on how to restrict access to certain sites on the Internet would be better.

Of course, as with most of these types of calls, the people lobbying for such changes aren't willing to take responsibility or blame and would rather someone else shoulder it.
There has to be a increase on detection of illegal things but anything which isnt "wrong" shouldnt be banned.

this is pretty much impossible to be banned, referring to a recent one which i cant find.

A normal everyday website, had been built so thta by going a certain route clicking in a certain way onto certain pages over a number of pages and times allowed the "peado" to find the illegal child porn.

no person without the knowledge of the correct seqeuence would of found it and neither would a filtration system of blocked it.

you cannot block the internet, the hackers and creators are brighter and move quicker than the enforcement agencies. its a known fact across the informed interent bunch.

"hidemyass" is a obvious well used site used by a hell of a lot of people and that isnt even that high tech.

Ban it and i commit suicide. Simple.
jesus christ. if they don;t want their kids looking at porn how about taking the kids' computers off them rather than imposing their outdated "morals" on strangers. I'm ****ing sick of this sort of thing, there's nothing that winds me up quite like people who want to ban everything fun.

Fun?
The tools necesarry for parents to block their kids from watching porn are available, they just need educating more on how to use them rather than do something that affects people who have a right to go on these websites. Yes there are ways around it, but if they are smart/old enough to know how to get around it and activly search for it then just accept it.

Fun?

Yes. Porn is fun. Drugs are fun. Gambling is fun. Strip bars are fun. I imagine regulated prostitution would be fun. You can guarantee if something is too much fun, someone out there will want it banned. People telling other people how to live their lives makes my ****ing blood boil.

Nah
Im sorry mate but your argument is flawed
'Fun' is relative
Some physcos say that killing is fun.
I dont know it could be, but thats besides the point.
The point is wether it is harmful to society and the long and short term consequences.
The real problem is people who want to have fun without taking responsibility due to thier own selfishness. Now that makes my blood boil...

It's not flawed because killing harms someone else. The things I listed all involve consenting adults who should not be having other people's arbitrary morals imposed upon them. I''m not a child, I don't need decisions that only concern myself making for me.

Drugs dont harm others? Your seriously deluded mate. Probably caused by your self-centeredness. Or perhaps simple-mindedness? You dont need to be a genius to recognise that an action taken by an individual can have external Consequences? Drugs is one of the worst to be honest.

Im sorry but your wrong again, I think you'll find drugs do have external consequences. :/. So do the others ( im pretty sure your too simple minded to understand the others). You should be able to understand how drugs harms others. If not, please go and educate yourself.
Sorry if i sound offensive

There's no need to insult me, that's ****ing childish and adds nothing to your argument. I thought we were just having a civilised exchange here.

Anyway, there is no such thing as "drugs" really. There are a range of psychoactive substances that carry vastly different effects and risks. Lumping everything under the banner of "drugs" is naive and wrong. Cannabis is not heroin, mescaline is not crystal meth, psilocybin is not crack cocaine. There are some ****ed up chemicals that are damaging and prone to abuse, but there are plenty of beneficial ones that can be used sensibly with no consequences to anyone but potentially the person taking them. Infact, I dare say society could benefit in a big way from certain ones being legalised or at least used on a wider scale.

I already apologised if i came across as rude thank you.
Sorry but that isn't my problem, if thats the case you need to be a bit more specific. Now are you telling me that the 'drugs' you were reffering to you were the non-harmful types used for medical reason? Then in what way are these drugs 'fun' (well its your opinion i guess).
To focus more on the thread, Porn is being acessed by those below the age of consent. Laws must be put i place to protect those vunerable. There is nothing wrong with that. do you beg to differ? If so please state.

It would be a pointless ban, like the ban of pirate bay, kids know how to get around it.

Unfortunately, the government knows this and so would end up going over the top with overly strict filters. On the plus side, that'd probably mean those adverts where the naked women in your area want to chat don't get through.

Make the filters as strict as you want, a simple proxy will get round them, unless you also ban the millions of proxies as well, then you'd have to ban all the new ones that are created every minute of every day. Even if they managed to keep up with the proxy filtering they would just end up pushing people onto the dark web, and there's stuff on there you wouldn't want adults seeing let alone children.
