Letters from the SQA - Full Marks in Exams?
I was just wondering whether anyone knows if the SQA or any Exam Boards throughout Scotland/UK still send letters to students who achieve 100% in one of their exams?
Is it definitely 100% you have to achieve or is it around 95 - 100%?
Has anyone on here received or known someone who received one of these letters? What results and what subject was it for? -
Re: Letters from the SQA - Full Marks in Exams?
I know that the SQA give out awards for 'Wacademic Excellence' (http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/...excellence.asp) The page seems to suggest that rather than being for a particular percentage, the award's just for the person who does the best. It also doesn't make clear whether more than one person can get it if several people get the same top mark.
Hope this helped! -

Think it's just one person per year who wins the academic excellence awards. I remember something about someone winning for 6 A1s at Higher, which I'd assume more than one person achieves each year, but who knows.

Hi, only just noticed this thread. I can't speak for any other Exam Boards but SQA don't send letters to candidates scoring 100%. However, the schools and local authorities will be aware of anyone in their centres achieving this and may choose to recognise it - and of course get some local PR.
Hope that answers your question.
