So I filled out the 10 step application declaring I have no personal income (aka I do not work), showed you the results and now you're telling me to get that the mother must work?

Not very good evidence is it?

Did it ever occur to you there is child tax credit AND working tax credit?
she is entitled to that much tax credit SHOULD SHE WORK. not its entitlement not what she will be given. no job = no way to claim tax credit

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/st...taxcredits.htm

You can usually claim Child Tax Credit for:
    • a new baby
    • any child who lives with you, until 31 August after their 16th birthday
    • children under 20, if they're in certain types of education or training

If you have a baby, your payments can be backdated to when the baby was born - but only if you claim within one month. For example, if your baby was born on 1 January but your claim is received on 1 June, you'll only be paid from 1 May.
Where does it mention you have to work?

look up what tax credits actually are, then you might understand what they do, they are credits on tax you would pay, if you wouldnt pay that much tax anyway you dont get them, whats so hard to understand?

    Whats so hard to understand?

The government website doesnt mention one has to work to receive them

I entered no income into the calculator and it still produced that amount of benefit.

Its not looking good for your argument!

    are you really this thick?

ok a tax credit is a credit on your tax above your personal allowance, if you dont pay that tax you cant possibly use the tax credit, as tax credit is not actually paid to you it is an extension of the tax free personal allowance worth a certain amount, or a refund on tax you have already paid depending on when you claim, so you get some tax credit for working a low paid job and some tax credit for having children. do you comprehend now?

because people on this forum are mostly middle class teenagers who have never experienced life on the bottom, they dont seem to get these things called "circumstances" and have no sense of perspective, take that guy whos arguing with me complaining about a take home pay of 90k, how can you complain about 90k? these are the people who then want to cut help for single mothers, disabled people and carers, pensioners, people who lost jobs in the recession (caused by the unregulated free market banks not by government by the way right wingers ). then they go on to say privatise everything, these groups barely get by as it is why should we cater to the top 10% of people?
I suppose if you aspire to earn more and you see the Government taxing you more and more you are entitled to moan...

not really, your still on 90k a year and prices in the country take into account the tax rates, by disposable income so if tax rates went down prices would go up anyway because people would be able to spend more, you would have more money but it would be worth the same. and tbh you earn more you still take home more you can still buy everything you need and want, youd still let people suffer for a slightly bigger bank balance?

I wouldn't 'let people suffer' as you put it. I just think it is better for the Government to let people to keep as much of their money as possible. It is taxpayers' money after all...

Now that they have made worrying gains in local council elections? Have the days of socialism begun to return to this country? Will this country be brought further to ruin by Labour's reckless spending? Will we lose our AAA credit rating and see house prices fall through the floor once the markets see that the British public do not want cuts (despite how much they are needed)?

Yeah the spectre of Labour has come back> the Tory party have spent twice what Labour spent in over a decade in power in a few years:

Great Britain £1 trillion in debt and rising

and George Osborne went and got rid of our AAA rating AAA bye bye
